I did a brief search on this topic before posting my own issue but didn't find the thread that you're referring to.

Ford MMotor Company can make as many excuses as they want but it doesn't change the facts that this brake issue could cause unusual wear and tear on the brakes pads.
I'm not aware that FMC is making any excuses about this issue. Indeed, the fact it has issued two TSBs in an attempt to address it is a tacit admission that something is wrong. I believe the second half of your statement is inaccurate. If there were any evidence that this issue could cause unusual wear or damage to the brakes then it would be a recall instead of a TSB. In other words, the noise is just an annoyance, not a safety issue.

Like many of you, my brakes were fine on my 2022 Bronco Sport until about 12-15,000 miles when they began squealing like a pig when in reverse. It is quite embarrassing and is just not acceptable for a vehicle under warranty to do this. I brought it to the dealer twice. Clips were replaced and brakes scuffed but they squealed leaving the dealership both times. I was told it is simply a “characteristic” of my car. Seriously??? After speaking to Ford with no resolution, I reported the defect to the NHTSA 1-888-327-4236. They advise that anyone with this issue should call and open a complaint with the defects division. This is how recalls are forced, so please call and report your issue.

Hey, Tess. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to see how I can assist you with your brake concern.

21 Badlands owner here -- Didn't experience the issue until about the 6-month mark. When I first mentioned it to the dealer, they said they never heard of the problem before, so I just chose to live with it (mainly backing up to park most of the time). A year and a half later I mentioned it again and they were surprised why I waited so long to report it (ugh). They supposedly performed the service bulletin work, but it didn't change anything.

As long as its not cold or rainy you should be ok. Seeing as you are in Seattle you're in trouble lol.

It's all the time. Even happens when it's warm, dry and sunny.

I'm sorry that's brutal. There have been several fixes and I don't think any of them have worked from Ford directly. Mine do it, but only in cold weather or after I wash it or heavy rains.

Hi there, Bill. Go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer, and I’ll look into this concern with your brakes.

We had the TSB repair done on my wife's 21 BS/BB & at times they still squeak when backing up. As stated above they are just an annoyance.

I have a 2022 Bronco Sport Big Bend that I bought in June 2022. Since October 2023 I have had a severe brake issue when using them in reverse mode. I've had it serviced at 2 different Ford dealerships, was told that it was fixed and when I got home the brakes were squealing worse than ever. Just recently I found a "Ford authorized mechanic" and took my truck to his shop. He basically did the same routine as the dealerships with the exception that he applied dome " Stop Squeak" grease to my brake pads. My truck is still under the 36,000/ 3 year bumper to bumper warranty but because the last place I took it for repair doesn't do warranty work I was stuck paying $293 for the repair. I called Ford Motor Company and they're refusing to reimburse me. I was told by the business that this fix is just a temporary bandaid for my issue. I was told by a local Ford dealership that this is a problem with the Bronco Sport and the Escape and that Ford doesn't know what to do about it.
Has or is anyone else having this same issue and what have you experienced?
When it's colder out, mine reminds me of a hippo I saw at the Buffalo Zoo giving birth. I'll live with it till it's time to do the brakes and go with Powerstop's drilled/slotted rotor and ceramic pad kit
