I have a 2021 BS Outerbanks and I need tires. I've read through a LOT of the threads about tires but I'm still confused. I don't have/want a lift - but I'd like to have a more rugged/beefy looking tire. My current tires say 225-60 R18. When I look at the threads, most people say 235-65. Will 235-65 R18 fit my Bronco?

I’m not sure what fits with the 18in tire but I know a lot of us on here have upgraded the tires to 245/65r17 in various different brands/styles and those fit perfectly fine with no rubbing at all without a lift.

IMHO big beefy tires look kinda silly on the 18in rims for the Bronco Sport but again thats just my opinion…

About 1.5" taller and 0.5" wider. Should fit ok. When if in doubt, visit a tire store (like Discount Tire) and inquire.

Thank you! I do go to different sites (including Discount Tire) and punch in my vehicle info but there seem to be a lot of choices. I've also read in the threads about tire weight? Not sure if that's a big deal or not?

I put 255 55 18 on my OuterBanks with adequate clearance. It is close but they do not rub.

And for comparison, those recommended 255 55 18 tires are close in size to 245 65 17 tires that many owners put on their BS models that have the 17” rims.

It is if you are concerned with fuel milage. It will be reduced.

The Badlands trim offers a 235/65R17 option. Many here have reported success with 245/65R17 sized tires. This represents an increase in tire diameter--which seems to be the limiting factor--of approximately 1/2" (235/65R17 is 29" while 245/65R17 is 29.5"). Going to a 235/65R18 adds another 1/2" to the overall diameter, increasing it to 30". A Ford rep has been quoted in a magazine article (I don't remember which one) as saying the vehicle can handle tire diameter up to 31". At least one poster here uses 245/70R17 Goodyears (overall diameter 30.5") and claims no rubbing.

Keep in mind the tread profile may have an impact here. Tires from different manufacturers advertised as 30" in diameter may have markedly different tread profiles, which could mean that one rubs and one does not.

Based on all the post here on the forum, you can go up to 29.5" with tires from a variety of different manufacturers with no worry of rubbing. The 235/65R18 size you propose may or may not, depending on the tread profile.

I suggest you speak with someone from your local Discount Tire shop. They will often allow you to install tires to test fit them.

FYI, for what it's worth, at a mere 6K on my new Big Bend, I was sick of the stock Continental ProContact tires. The were loud and didn't handle well. Plus, I wouldn't be caught dead in the snow with those things. I replaced them with the Falken Wilderness AT3s, 235/65R17, and the results were astonishing. These tires completely transformed the vehicle; much more planted, quieter, handles better. I looked close at the stock 225/65R17 Continentals we pulled: they were JUNK. The sidewalls were so thin I could squeeze it flat with my hand, between the inner lip and the tread surface.
