So, when i brought my 2023 BS in for the most recent 24S24 recall, the Dealer also had to load the latest version of the infotainment system software as well due to it being really wonky (black screen on occasion, radio controls wouldn't function, rear backup camera remaining on in drive and a couple of other small things i can't recall at the moment)

I've had it back for a while and all seems to be working but i find that if playing a podcast, the display on screen appears the same as if i was making a phone call... even shows time of the call. I'm 99.9% sure that did not appear on the screen prior to the infotainment software update. Has anyone else noticed that?

I'm not going to get worked up about it... podcast still plays through the speakers fine... just seems odd...

It’s been one of my only complaints of my Bronco’s. This constant updating makes the infotainment system act wonky half the time.

Once a year is “constant updating”?

How do you handle your phone and computer? There are updates several times a month.

Mine seems to change monthly. The full size is worse than the Sport with regards to the updates.

My phone and computer update much more than once a year but not as often as the cars and except for last weeks little outage, my computer and phone come back up just as before. The cars, not so much. The biggest issues are the audio portion, not sure why other than it takes a bit of driving before they seem to settle out.

What build of SYNC 3.4 are you currently running?

I've had automatic updates off since forever. I last did an update in 2023 for the map. I haven't done a sync upgrade since 2021. The updates don't add features and don't seem to solve the frustratingly slow operation of the USB indexing and XM channel switching, so why update?

That notwithstanding, my sync seems to be developing a few weird quirks like losing the background on car start or randomly turning off the navigation breadcrumbs. I don't think Ford software development is very elegant or advanced overall.

OP, have you tried something simple like removing and re-pairing the phone or resetting the HU?

I’ve seen very similar problems especially with screen freezing and xm. Normally clears up after driving some.

Why is it so difficult to get people to respond with the current build of SYNC 3.4?

I read complaints about SYNC 3.4 and the solution is so simple to apply.

Because most owners don't know what you are talking about, or how to check what build they have. If they can't say "Alexa, what SYNC build do I have?", they'll never know.

The dealership updated to Version 3.4 when I brought the vehicle in for the recent recall.

The update cleared up the host of infotainment issues noted in my original post but I ended up with the weird quirk mentioned (podcast appears on screen like a phone call) most often occurs when listening to a podcast and NOT connected by wire.

I will also add that it does not do it all the time.

To find your Build number:
Find and Select the SETTINGS tab, then
Select the GENERAL tab, then
Select the ABOUT SYNC tab
It will show the Build Version (latest is 23188 Product).

Cheers!

@KidWiff Do you have the paperwork for the infotainment system software update? Does it state specifically what was installed? Does it show Customer Satisfaction Program 24B47 ?
