I have 115,000 on 21 OB. I have been experiencing hesitation when the transmission is in 3rd and 4th gear. Highway speeds are fine.

What is the recommended procedure to reset the TCM? Negative battery cable removal or FORScan method?

Step by step please.

There are many YouTube videos and other articles online regarding this.

But what is the official recommended procedure?

Not sure but off the topic in those 115,000 miles have you had any water pumps replaced?

Try this:

I watched the video, and they disconnected the negative post first, and then connected the clip to the cable clamp, after it was removed from the post. Whew, looking at the frozen picture screen without clicking the arrow (start) was misleading. I also see they placed a towel over the post to prevent a major short!

Yep after disconnecting the negative cable from the 12V battery, the clip connection connects positive cable to negative cable to discharge all the capacitance in the vehicle (which of course has to be performed after the negative cable is removed from battery). ⚡

Yeah, it would have been a much more exciting video if he had made the connection across those leads with the ground still connected to the battery's negative post. Much shorter too. I'll see myself out now....
