Looks like Landspider tires are made in Thailand and I think lots of tires are made there including some of the Falkens. (Google search seems to show the tire company that also makes the Landspider tires is owned by China but can’t confirm that)

@The_Jimmer I didn’t look back to see all of your posts but where did you get your Landspider tires from? Are they carried by Discount Tire? It’s ok if u aren’t sure .. easy enough for me to call when I need tires.

I've had the 245/65 Mickey Thompsons for about 5k miles now and I love them (replaced Pirelli Scorpions) .

Pros
-I've taken them offroad a lot and they've done great on gravel, sand, some snow, some mud, etc...
-They look great and improve the overall look of the vehicle a lot, imo
-They seem durable. I've done lots of sharp-gravel-road driving and no leaks yet (Pirelli tires got a couple leaks while I had them from sharp rocks getting embedded).
-As reported on this forum a lot, 245/65/17s fit without rubbing

Cons
-Definite drop in mpg from the weight and wind-resistance. The hit is mostly on highway driving, where I could get up to 27-28 on long trips before now it's more like 24-25.
-My overall mpg average for the first 14k miles was 25.3. Since switching tires it's about 22.8.
-They are noticeably louder, which is mostly apparent while driving slowly. It varies depending on the road.

--
Those cons aren't a big deal to me, and having tough tires for exploring mountain roads, or the beach, or whatever back road I can find was worth the cost.

I wish I would have switched to them earlier.

Bought them off Walmart, had them delivered and installed locally at a trusted shop. Paid $118 a tire at the time on sale. The company is in Thailand and if you look at the specs for tread rating and sidewalls they are very competitive.

Thanks!! I just googled and found besides Walmart there are several other locations in my area but typically hard to beat the Walmart price. I also found a couple of reviews both had positive comments but because the tire appears to be relatively “new” I haven’t found long term tests yet.

What was the tire warranty provided to you?

The standard Walmart Warranty applies for tires purchased thru them. I didn't do the road hazard, I have that through USAA. There are several video reviews of the RT and the MT, all favorable, so hard to imagine that doesn't carry over to the AT series.

Do you know the tire weight of the 17” AT 111TXL that you went with?

I have USAA but didn’t know they provide road hazard warranty on tires (they will change a flat or tow if needed so perhaps that’s what you meant)… but you would pay out of pocket to repair a flat even with USAA?

USAA roadside assistance can include flat tire replacement, including using a spare tire or getting a tow. USAA's roadside assistance coverage costs around $18–$24 per year, depending on the policy and location. USAA roadside assistance also includes other emergency services, such as:
  • Battery jumpstarts
  • Winching
  • Fuel delivery
  • Unlocking your vehicle
  • Towing to a repair shop
  • Removing your vehicle from mud or snow

Gotcha. I switched to AAA so I dropped my USAA roadside assistance… with some of the tire road hazard packages, free repairs for fixable flat tires is included and just was checking if USAA roadside assistance had been enhanced (AAA doesn’t either)

If you buy a Badlands with the optional steelies today, what brand tire do they come with now that the Falken ATW3 is no more….? Must be something similarly light?

Currently still the AT3. They are still around and Ford surely has enough for what they plan to build in the 24 models.
