We have 2 Bronco Sports and I have a Odyssey from my Ranger I never installed and an Optima Yellow top.
Now I have to figure out which one will go in the Big Bend and which one will go in the Badlands.
Both our Broncos have the factory EFBs. We take a lot of long trips up into the mountains and I do not want
any battery issues.

Batteries are a no bling item - I mean no one can see them - but for us it is very important to know we can rely on a good start
and reasonable battery life.

I think both are great batteries and I got the Optima direct from the Optima and the Odyssey directly from Odyssey.
The Optima is new so it is good to go. The Odyssey is over a year old and has been on a shelf in my garage and reads 12.4V now.
I contacted Odyssey and they said it is probably fine to install but though I should charge to at least 12.6V.
No problem as I have a charger and it is on it now.

So what I think will be interesting is how long will each battery last in each Bronco.
Let the games begin.

Flip a coin. In my mind the forum seems to have very firmly established that there are SO many variables effecting the life of the batteries (EFB or AGM) that it is not worth the time or trouble to obsess on it beyond buying a high quality battery from a reputable manufacturer. Because I am in the south (heat is my batteries worst enemy) I will probably buy another EFB when my original one gives out. But have fun here splitting hairs!

I hear you guys, but there are a lot of issues posted here about premature battery life and or related.. When we go off the grid (which we do regularly), a battery problem is not anything I want to deal with. So getting high quality batteries for both our Bronco sports gives us piece of mind.
So we can jump in either and or both and feel pretty confident we are going make the trip back.

Yep, it seems an AGM is no magic fix either.

You've brought this up more than once, you seem concerned about the EFB's in your Sport's.

You already have replacement batteries, just change them to ease your stress level and we can all see if we learn anything from your experience.

o.K. that was a joke. I carry a full size jump starter when I travel out of town. It has paid off big time more than once.
