Car play/usb stopped working

Got a weird one. Car play just stopped working and now the cable doesn’t even charge the phone? I haven’t checked the fuses yet, which leads to, does anyone know which fuse to check?

I’ve been having problems with my CarPlay for like a year now. It worked here and there with the USB-C slot and now that it’s gotten colder out, it doesn’t wanna work at all so I gotta use the USB-A slot which is annoying and sometimes that doesn’t wanna work either.

Take a look at the "Fuse" section of the Owners Manual for fuse types, sizes, and locations. What version of SYNC 3 are you using? Cheers!

I have had the same issue with my BL. Every now and again it just stops working. I dont do anything and the next day or a day or two later it starts to work. Annoying. But sporadic so no point in taking it in to get it looked at as by the time you get an appointment it's okay. Sometimes it's the USB C only other times it's both.

Are you all up to date on your Sync 3 software? My USB got flaky after working fine for 2+ years. Upgrading the Sync software to 3.4 Build 23188 fixed it.

Why is it so hard to get OPs to post the version/build of Sync that they have installed?

Knowing this information could help solve any issues a lot faster.

And everyone needs to be aware that just because Sync says you are up to date doesn’t mean that you are. The version number is what matters. Mine has lied to me since day one.

Have you tried using another cable, or use the same cable in a different USB-C port to see if the phone charges? Did you check for debris in the charge port of your phone? Just a few variables to consider and rule out before digging into fuses.

Had to have my "media hub" replaced under warranty. Sounds like you have the same issue.

@MoFoCo Would you be able to locate the dealership paperwork and post the part # for the "media hub"?

in your post you mentioned … ML3Z-19A387-D appears to be the part number for the USB "Module Interface" but not sure if that is the same as "media hub" part #.
