The official Ford emblem they use is $40 (they give the PN in the description). They have another $5-$10 in materials with paint, 3M adhesive, and other things used during the manufacture. They have another 30 minutes in labor at ~$70/hr grossed up. That's $40 + $5 + $35 = $80 in their cost. We haven't added any overhead to cover facilities, websites, utilities, and everything else that it costs to run a business that gets amortized across the products sold.

So, yeah, $150 is a lot ... but also ends up being a fairly reasonable profit margin. That's the difference between an official OEM part that's painted versus some cheap molded black emblem from Asia, I suppose.

Despite your thread title, this is not a "Ford" emblem. This is a Ford emblem. Thus, the much higher price.

Custom emblem$$$ are expensive. A lot less than what I paid for custom on my F-150. To do the job right the emblem has to be disassembled, painted and glued back together.

That's a terrible seller. That isn't the right emblem for the sport and they're charging too much (plus shipping!) You can get the right painted emblem in black/black for $125 elsewhere. The correct liftgate badge from Ford is about $60. Don't expect to pay less than $100 for a custom unless you DIY.

I agree with most comments above. I like being UNIQUE! I have that emblem on my Badlands light gate currently. Besides it is cheaper than the ones on my Maverick that was $400 (set) because of rear camera.

I just put an overlay(not a huge fan of overlays) on my Bronco. Didn't want to start prying the OG off on a brand new truck. Maybe down the road if something catches my eye I'll do it but I've had enough modding "pleasure" with my F-150. ;)

I have the blacked out one and I'm really happy with it. Sure it's a lot of money but it looks a whole lot better than the vinyl stickers you can get to put over the badge. You get what you pay for.

I like overlays as well. Have one on Truck steering wheel. Even have black overlay letters over my original white letters on the Bronco Sport. But custom black Ford emblems look REAL GOOD!

It's not about inflation. It's about demand. ?‍♂

If people buy, people will make.
Yup. Unless and until people stop paying big bucks for these they will continue to sell them at that price. As evidence, I offer the EV market. Manufacturers have pretty much gone through the early adopters, so inventory is now stacking up on lots around the country. Look for significant incentives in the next few months as manufacturers get antsy to move these cars.
