Mark, I was waiting for your response especially. You'd tell me for sure if I was doing something dumb. It didn't feel dumb. ?
Nope, you've done your homework, and you're well below the GVWR, so absolutely nothing to worry about. I wouldn't even worry too much about loading a bit above the max numbers (say 10% or less) as long as you're not driving it like that for long distances and/or doing it frequently. A short trip home from the local landscape supply store isn't going to break anything. Just slow down, drive carefully and give yourself more stopping distance; loose bricks flying around the cabin should you run into something would not be fun.

If you do decide to overload it I would limit driving time to 30 minutes or less. After that, pull over and give the wheel bearings & brakes some cooling time before continuing.

I had to order the dash panel from parts.ford.com because they offer free shipping and because the dash panel is over size no matter where else I tried to order the shipping cost was far too high. My local Ford dealerships typically do not offer or match the discounted internet Ford parts stores that I normally order from.

Occasionally I have to use a variation of the part number but not this time for the 4 push on fasteners:
Boy, those nuts have really swollen. I added that piece back in 4/22 and list was only $8 for the push nuts. $54 total on the project.

My view on loading is — if it fits, do it
Same, before the bb I had a highlander with a 3k towing capacity, still used it to tug around a 7k lb van, never on the road though, it had a bad motor and kept getting in the way

My nuts were swollen more than yours. $11 at my local Ford Dealer here on Long Island. Total rip-off they should be included with the panel. The hood insulator came complete with the clips so why not this piece?

Hit the first milestone in my BL. I've had it since October, so that's a thousand miles a month since I brought it home.

Inadvertently took my BS off-roading on Monday. Looking for a fishing spot and followed a two track that turned into a one track that lead right back to the road after a hairpin turn. The BB crawled right out of the ditch with no hesitation and no scraping. ?

That‘s pretty good. We have had ours 3 mo and it just rolled over 1,700 miles. It,s been a fun vehicle and my wife and I both love driving it. Did you used to live in PHX Kris?

Safford, actually. I worked for two years managing recreation on the Coronado NF/Mt. Graham. I'm from the east coast originally and recently moved to NC to settle down permanently. I found out pretty quick that I'm not a "small town in the middle of nowhere" kind of girl, nor am I a fan of living in the desert. Was fun to experience life somewhere new, though!

Sweet Indeed! Nothing like having company in the driveway to spend the day with knowing that your're both looking sharp, and being looked at!!!!!!!!
My wife enjoyed driving mine so much, we traded in her sedan and got her a "Cactus Gray" BS/BB.
