I guess I was being overly polite. I'm 80 years old and really don't worry about offending people, intentionally or otherwise.

Yeah, when you're young you're "rude" but when you get old (I'm just 74) you're okay -- you become the lovable "crazy" uncle and nobody gets excited over what you say or do. I, myself have become "Uncle Lewis" (Christmas Vacation) without the cigar?

The stripes don't look bad to me on some colors, like the reds, but on some they make my eyes cross.

I don't think it was that popular back in the 1970s and I don't think that will change much in 2024. There will be a small fraction that thinks it's super awesome and an even smaller fraction of those people will actually buy one.

Ford isn’t quite the first company to try this. Toyota did similar with the 40th anniversary 4 runner. Not a bad idea, I like it or the stripes inside & out at least if the wheels aren’t my favorite, but not many have to like it when there’s not much cost to develop.

With all due respect, if you're 80, Ford has admitted this was not made to appeal to you. I'm 27 and really like the theming, especially the interior. The wheels are too much, but I love the rest. Would definitely buy if it came with a 2.0L and I didn't love my Velocity Blue as much as I do.

OK, who's going to be first and apply some woodgrain shelf paper to make it a "Woodie." It might actually look good, like a retro Olds Cutlass Cruiser Wagon, if that's your cup of tea.
