So for those of you that upgraded tires, how much more ground clearance did you gain and with what tire? I currently have the 235/65/17 Falkens on my badlands. Thanks.

You can go to a 235/70/17 Goodyear wrangler workhorse, they stand at 30 inch and clear without issues. .

Got it. So that would be a full inch higher than the Falkens I think.

I thought the 70 series rubbed in off road extremes?

I’m not doing any extreme off-road stuff. Does anyone have any experience with 245/70/17?

Most likely too big, you would get rub when steering to full lock, or somewhere close to full lock.

Even with a lift installed?
Yes, the rub is on the back/bottom side of the wheel well. A lift doesn't really change the relationship/gap between the tire and the point that rubs, unless you figure out how to raise the BS by 5-6".

Your issue would be the extra 10mm it will rub . Mine has 235/70/17 the 235 is the trick , unless you get a little lift , the skinny tire is the answer. Meanderthal has the right math on this subject. This is my own opinion based on the last 4 months of use .

This is a hot topic that comes up all the time. I posted about my experience with a lift and 255/70/17 tires and some trimming of plastic. No rub and I really enjoy the ride.

I intend to run the same size tire, what size lift kit are you running?
