For $35, you can buy that same BL with the X-Plan and still get the $1,000 bonus ... so, $1,000 under X-Plan.

As mentioned above, a given dealership does not have to participate in X-Plan pricing, but there are so many dealerships out there that the X-Plan should always be the worst deal anyone ever gets.
Can you please elaborate on how for $35 you can get X-Plan pin? Years ago I was luck enough to get a pin from a Ford employee to get X-Plan pricing. The next time I was interested in buying a new car I called Ford because I had heard if you owned stock in Ford you could get X-Plan. At that time Ford Corporate told me I needed 100 shares of stock. I decided against going that route as that would have been a couple of hundred dollars to buy the 100 shares. Other than buying stock it is my understanding you need access trough a Ford Partner.

Sorry, I thought this was common knowledge. There are a few organizations that, when joined, offer X-Plan pricing as one of the benefits of memberships. The most common of these is the Mustang Club of America. The lowest membership level that includes X-Plan costs $35. Other clubs that offer X-Plan are more expensive ... but may contain other benefits that you value, so shop around.

I was not aware of that. Thank you.

I used X-Plan for my BS OBX as well. There was a "market adjustment" of $1995 which the X-Plan discount wiped out, though I feel like I could have negotiated away. The X-Plan discount isn't huge, but it made the experience much easier. I lucked out a bit on customer cash. When I first looked at my OBX at the dealer on a Monday, there was no customer cash; when I went back to make the purchase on Wednesday, $800 had magically appeared.

My BSOB came in sooner than I expected. Arrived Saturday. Got the X-Plan price ($1056 off MSRP), and there were 3 Ford incentives in effect ($1000, $1000, and $500)! Plus saved another $475 from the D&H being capped at $100. All total we got it for roughly $4k under MSRP. Quite happy with that. Just lucky timing to have 3 incentives in effect for my zip code. One was for the whole month of June, another just started 6/22, and I'm still not sure what the 3rd one was. I only knew about 2 of them showing on the X-Plan page but when we got to the finance guy he said "Good news, I found another $1000 incentive in effect". Wasn't a credit incentive since we were cash buyers.

Usually any surprises at that point are bad news, not good news.

I love that hot pepper red (just like mine). Curious, though, I thought the OBX came standard with the painted black roof?

Just the opposite. The black roof costs extra. The body color roof is standard (which we liked better anyway). Or at least it is now. I've kinda wondered about that since I see so many on the roads that are black. Maybe it used to be the reverse in prior years?

I'm looking at my window sticker and it doesn't mention the painted roof as either standard or as an add-on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't believe you can get any version of the Heritage with a black roof(?).

Yep, Heritage is white roof. It's one of the distinctive things that makes it a Heritage. That's confusing wording. It probably really refers to "special color roof", which means black on the OB or BL, but white on the Heritage.

My window sticker doesn't mention roof color in the standard equipment either. It would only show up in the Optional Equipment if we ordered the $500 black roof. Not only did we want the red anyway, but $500 seems like a ridiculous amount for it. It was a $495 upgrade to get the Hot Pepper Red, and that was the whole car. Can't imagine spending another $500 to have the roof painted black instead.

Yikes... was curious what an equivalent 2022 BL would be like the one I paid $3K over MSRP when I bought mine over a year ago! Looks like I still paid $4k less than what it would cost for a 2023 version of my BL's today at Fords MSRP... makes me fell a little bit better for getting pinched by my friendly neighborhood dealer... ugh!

And, here I was considering having my Cactus Grey BL's roof wrapped into carbon grey... well now that I have that $500 premium black roof... guess I'm starting to warm up to it...lol

2023's have to pay the upcharge to get the black roof, or unless Ford changed it, the grey roof is still a free upgrade. Dumb change IMO. I already paid $700+ extra to get Orange, damned if I'd have paid $500 MORE for two-tone on top of that. Hello wrap.

I paid MSRP on a Heritage Limited yesterday. Every dealer that was getting one was charging a market adjustment on them. I wasn't terribly happy paying sticker but given we couldn't find more than 3 Yellowstones within 100 miles and taking advantage of the the 2.9% over 60 from Ford Credit eased the blow.
