Thinking about going with a full size spare on a generic steel wheel.

Then based on the diameter there is about 1/2 inch gap around the tire in the storage area. The difference between the two sizes is about 1/10 inch. So it should fit at least on that parameter.

I see you have a black steely. I found one too but the offset is 52mm vs the oem wheel 37.5mm. Is that some kind of safety issue?

I just called 3 tire shops and all couldn't give me an answer.
Looks like a Ebay used matching wheel is my only choice.

May or may not be a safety issue but not sure there is enough room to have that large of an offset. The 52mm offset would bring the wheel in further, meaning the inside edge will get 15mm closer to the strut on the front or the shock in the back. Going with a lower offset would be a safer bet than a higher offset. A small difference of a couple of millimeters is probably not going to cause an issue but 15mm is more than a few.

Thanks so much! I think the best thing to do is as I posted, buy a used matching wheel.

They're easy to find. I thought it was going to be a long shot, but there was at least twenty listings.
I got a wheel for $180 local shop put new matching sized tire on, and pressure sensor for $135. Not much for peace of mind, if you ever need it.
I've had the original full size spare for sale for $100, (now $50) for almost a year now, and haven't had a single bite.
