Does anyone know exactly where the external ambient temperature sensor is located? I took some minor front-end damage in a collision with a deer last night...
So far, the only real evidence of the encounter is a bit of fur on the bumper, a slight gap issue with the front passenger fender, one broken vertical slat, and the loss of my external temperature sensor readings. I don't know if the system attempts to infer other conditions (like AC fan speed or related) but if that's the worst of it, I'm grateful. I noticed a very brief yellow (!) style icon in place of the numeric value field, but mostly it just reads "--o" now (lower case "O" chosen instead of a zero because that is how it appears to me).
On a related note, I have found it to be quite accurate and am pretty fond of having it around. While I could live without it, I prefer to fix/replace it. I have no idea if it was shorn off or just damaged (or hopefully just disconnected!). I'm going to poke around again now that I have the light but figured I'd ask here too.
If anyone has insight, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.
