I spoke too soon. Or I jinxed it.

I've been boasting about how great my BS is and how I think it's the best vehicle I've owned.... did I speak too soon? Did I jinx her?
Came out this morning to go shopping and the BS is dead. I mean D.E.A.D.! No sign of life at all. I suspect the battery, but.... any other thoughts? Drove it yesterday and no hint of issues. No warnings on the touch screen. Just, dead. Thanks for your input!

I just checked fordpass and it says she's gone into deep sleep mode. I have AAA coming. Hopefully it will jump start so I can at least get it out of the garage! Low battery means needs replacing? Just a little over a year old. 13,000 mi.

Have your battery load tested to be sure, but that's what it sounds like to me.

This is frustrating as it was supposedly tested two weeks ago at the dealer and they said it was above normal! Haha! (Not funny). I wonder, would the adaptive cruise control use an inordinate amount of electrical power? Or should'nt the alternator keep power up in the battery? That's the only accesory I use regularly. No auto lights or start/stop.

AAA probably has a good quality battery on their truck that fits if you need one. Definitely saved me a ton of hassle when my old car died at a rest stop.

There are different flavors of battery test. One is a straight voltage test; you put a meter on it to see how much voltage it's generating. Another is a load test; you put a metered load on the battery for a certain amount of time while monitoring voltage. If the voltage drops too far during the test then the battery is bad. Your dealership likely just tested the voltage. Ask them to do a LOAD TEST.

When my battery was going south it would randomly have no start issues. You could drive to the grocery store and it would act normal, come out to leave and then no start. Also during this time, auto start stop would not function properly. Had to go to the dealer 3 times, the first 2 times they said everything was normal, the 3rd time I said I didn't want the BS back until it was fixed, dealer replaced the battery under warranty, no issues since, it's been 7 months now.

I suspected the battery the first time we had an issue. That was a month ago when the instrument cluster didn't light up and I had no gauge function. Everything else worked. When we got home, we didn't drive it again for a couple hours. When we did, it was fully functional again. Since then til now not a hint of trouble. Now, the wife is upset and thinks we might have bought a lemon plus it's ruining our afternoon's plans. It's gonna take some doing to make her feel comfortable in the BS once this is fixed. She forgets that we've (I've) replaced the battery in her Mustang 3 times in 8 years! Lol! (Also, not really funny).

When that happens here in the extreme desert heat we cancel any prior plans and immediately drive to get a new battery instead. It’s the early warning signal not to be ignored ?

This all started at about 18/19 months. The battery was sporadic in operation, it would act normal for days and then when you least expect it some electrical issue would pop up like no start or the instrument cluster would light up like a Christmas tree or the BS would just die out which is completely unacceptable. The only constant for me was the auto start stop wouldn't work, it would always display the vehicle charging message.
Maybe yours was an isolated incident, it's no fun not knowing if the BS will start or not or worse, especially if your significant other and kids are using the vehicle.

As said, all the issues were resolved when the battery was replaced.

That's good to know. I'm at the dealer now. They're going to charge the battery, then load test it. If it fails, which I believe will happen, then I get a new battery.

FWIW I bought a battery powered portable jump starter on Amazon for about $50. Haven't had a need to use it yet but if it works as advertised it should be useful so you don't need AAA or jumper cables. It got outstanding reviews but, fortunately, I can't speak from personal experience with it.

I'm going to get one. I had thought about it before but procrastination is my middle name!

Just throwing this out there. Is it normal to hear low buzzing and clicking sounds emanating from the engine compartment after you have exited the vehicle and walking away from it?
