Like Suzy said above the CSX number still tracks it even though it's been handed off to Union Pacific. It arrived in Tuscon at 4:30 p.m. on 1/14. Hasn't moved since. Saw in another thread where someone else's left on what must have been on the same train and is also sitting in AZ. Going off of their screen name it looks like theirs is headed to MA so Tuscon must be a big yard where the train from Mexico gets broken up and sent in different directions. Figured it'll probably take a few days for trains to get built to multiple locations before heading out. Looking at a U.P. map of their tracks it looks like Tuscon is the point that they split to head either East or West. Mine will likely head to Southern California before heading up through Vegas and being offloaded in Salt Lake. Because I'm a Nerd and I like trying to figure things out, before it was sidelined it moved at approximately 4 mph. including stops. So if it starts moving again and doesn't get sidelined, it should take about 11 days to reach Salt Lake. So it needs to start moving again without multiple day stops by Thursday to next Wednesday to arrive during my delivery estimate. Yes, I'm weird but I like trying to figure things out and betting with myself if I'm correct.

I'll quote ya to let ya know when mine starts moving. I'll bet since you're East of me though we will split at Tuscon. Let me know if you hear anything on yours. Especially since your delivery estimate was a week before mine if I remember correctly. Interesting tracking this stuff.
I find it fascinating too. I called Ford for a week and I was told it was sitting In Nogales. An entire week. No change in my date or anything. I’m like huh. Okay. From January 6th to the 11th I was told sitting in Nogales. Then on the 12th, all of a sudden it’s in Kansas City (at the train yard) waiting for a truck to take it to my dealer. Mine was one of those that shipped on a train, without a railcar number assigned. Dealer never had one either. But my friend had a BS ship at the same time that I got my notice. We swear ours were on the same train. So I lived vicariously through his tracking. His stopped in KC too before going on and switching to CSX for his final journey to FL. If you get a railcar number and can track it. You can call that number every 3-4 hours and see the trigger points the train has passed. Happy tracking.

That sounds frustrating as hell having no railcar number to track. Kinda like when you've got a packaged shipped through USPS and it just says "in transit" for two weeks before it randomly shows up one day. Glad you basically found a way to stay updated though.

I tracked mine often enough to see it arrive/depart Calabasas AZ, Sahuarita AZ, and now Tucson. I missed Nogales apparently. Honestly I think part of the fun of tracking this stuff is getting a bit of an understanding of how it all works. No other point in my life would I have a reason to research train shipping. Always enjoy learning something new and random. I appreciate all of your help and knowledge on this stuff.

Yeah, it was frustrating, but my friend was adamant that mine was on the train with his. I think he was right. I’ve learned a lot. And now when the Maverick gets scheduled, we are ready to track it, right? ?. So now the Sport is sitting in Kansas City waiting for a truck. Once it gets off the train, you really do lose track of it from what I understand. It just magically appears at the dealership. My dealership is closed on Sunday and my salesman is off on Monday’s. So maybe tomorrow is the magic day. My new window ends on the 18th which is Wednesday. So fingers crossed ?.

Ya you're right, by the time the Mavericks get scheduled we'll be pros at this. Hopefully you're close the KC and it's just a quick trucking to your dealership. I'm only about 5 hours from Salt Lake City so once it makes it onto a truck there shouldn't be much need for tracking. Unless it gets offloaded then sits for a few days before a truck pics it up with no info. on when it will be loaded. That'll be frustrating.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya as well. Those Robins egg heritages are sharp. Kind of almost with we would have gone that route but I then I see the green and flip flop back.

I think it is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from KC to the dealership, so not too bad. The dealership says that usually their cars get put on trucks pretty fast, so we will see. The fun part will be figuring out how to get it. I’m in Texas. We still haven’t decided if we’ll fly up and get it or have the dealership ship it home.

I have yet to see a Robin’s Egg or an Eruption Green BS in person. If we didn’t go the Heritage route, the Eruption Green would have been a contender I’m sure.

I'd look into getting a rental car. Drive up, drop it off, and drive the Bronco home. I hate commercial flight and I had a horrible experience shipping a Willys wagon from Minnesota to Idaho a few years ago. See if you can rent something fun that you'd never buy otherwise and enjoy the trip. A buddy did that a couple years ago. There was a screw up with the econo car they reserved. Rental place offered them a Mustang convertible for the same price to make up for it. They really enjoyed their trip.

I've never seen either color on a BS in person either. All they had on the lot when we looked was Alto blue. It just didn't "pop" in the sun enough. They had a big Bronco in green and it looked awesome so we tried it. Our salesman didn't try to upsell us on anything when we ordered. We test drive a Big Bend, so that's what we ordered. Didn't even really know what the other trim levels were. I hadn't found this forum yet and the build website was still set to '22s. He never even mentioned the heritage models to us. He mentioned they had a limited in Robin egg coming in when we were there the other day. The wife absolutely loved the color. Probably would have done a heritage if she had known about them. According to the build site it's only about $2k more. Oh well. The Green will look fantastic I think. In person I've only seen a couple white, Alto, Area 51, and pepper red. Not a fan of white. Area 51 looks better on the Maverick I think. The Pepper red looked sharp though. I spied a Cyber Orange one on a lot from about 1/2 mile away. I'm still on the fence on that one. Looks better on the Sport than the Maverick imo.

I actually looked into renting something one way. The problem is the rental car companies where I’d have to drop it off are all closed on Saturday (and Sunday). I’d have to drop it off about 90 minutes away and the dealership would come pick us up. They’d have to do the same thing if we fly too. Flying would cost me nothing as I have miles and we can get there in the morning and I think we could get on the road driving back by the afternoon. I’d do all the paperwork while still home. Nothing worse than sitting in a finance office.

As the the different trims, it wasn’t until I saw the Heritage that I put my order in. That sealed the deal. ?

Flying definitely makes more sense in your case I'd say. Especially if the dealer will pick ya up.

I hear ya on sitting in a finance office. That's part of why I'm so insistent on tracking my order. When I went in the other day I asked for the purchase agreement so I can just go to my bank and have all financing done before it arrives. I was told that if I did all financing before it arrives, it wouldn't be trackable anymore. I call horseshit on that. I'm sure they just want me to finance through them so they get a kickback. Said they'd call me when it reached Salt Lake and it would be a day or two out, then we can do financing. The second it arrives in Salt Lake I will show up at the dealer. I'll demand they give me interest rates of all banks they say they work with before giving them any info. they can run my credit score with. I know my current score so I can figure stuff out from there. Not going to have them shotgunning my credit pulls to dozens of banks running my score down. They can find out who has the best rate, then I'll apply to only that one. If they refuse I'll demand my purchase agreement and go straight to my credit union. I thought I read where we should be rate protected to the day we ordered through Ford finance. That's the only reason I'm even going to talk with them.

Ours was a sealed deal because I ordered the Maverick. While ordering I mentioned that I was concerned about fitting in it well as I'm 6'2" and pushing 300. Salesman looked up dimensions and BS was nearly identical. We sat in one and the wife absolutely fell in love. We test drove a few others before ordering. Renegade, trailblazer, etc. All seemed like garbage compared to the BS, especially the Renegade. Ended up just ordering what she wanted in the first place. We would have just bought that '22 in Alto blue that we test drove but they had ADM's on it so it would have been about $5k over what we'll pay for the '23. The '22 didn't have as many options either. No copilot assist, cargo mat, cargo management, rubber seat backs, block heater, and tow package. Seemed stupid to pay more, for a year older model with less stuff just to save 4 months of waiting.

I actually think that is true about not being able to track it if you buy it before it comes in. Ford considers it sold and takes it off the books; thus no need to track it. I’ve heard that before, so I’m not sure they were lying to you. Yes, you are correct that we should get the rates offered when we ordered or the rates offered right now, whichever is better. I normally do not finance through the dealer/company but I think in this case, Ford has the better rates.

I can see where the tracking could be different after it's off the books, but with a railcar number it's still trackable. If it was a tracking number specifically for my vehicle then ya, it wouldn't be valid anymore but the railcar that it's loaded on will still be trackable. Even if it's sold before it gets put on a truck, there still has to be a manifest of the load so I'd think it would still be visible. I doubt they'd load a trailer of cars with all vehicles listed except a mystery vehicle in the middle of it. I could be wrong though. Common sense sometimes is not a factor when dealing with large companies.

You forget, they don’t realize that you are smarter than the average bear. Not everyone tracks their car. ? Or you could have my luck and travel with no railcar number. Common sense? Huh? What? Now you are just talking nonsense. ?

Ya, they're probably not used to people checking things on their own. They're used to people waiting by the phone for information from them.

Just ask my wife, I excel at nonsense.

Sometimes even having a railcar number doesn't tell ya much. I arrived in Tucson the 14th. The afternoon of the 15th it just said "no status available". Yesterday afternoon and early this morning it went back to telling me it arrived in Tucson. Now it's back to "no status available". Not sure exactly why, but I'll bet it sure doesn't mean it's mobile again. Haha!!

I look forward to hearing what you find out.
It is with UP. It currently is at the Gateway Yard in East Saint Louis. The did not have a railcar number to give me. ETA still shows 01/26-02/01. It is a mere 6 hours away from me.

That awesome!! Hopefully it shows up way early and that doesn't mean they are planning on it sitting in a rail yard for a while.

Checked on mine a few minutes ago. Still sitting in Tucson unfortunately.

I spent a lot of time driving around to se colors in person before deciding on the HPR.
