Looks great! Did you take a hit on fuel mileage? If so, how much? The little bit of a lift, along with the wheels and tires make a big difference.
Very happy with the results.
Hey thanks, Ken!Looking good!
Thanks, Mark- yeah, as expected there’s a hit on mpg. Still a little early for me to give you a definitive number. Maybe 2 miles to the gallon.Looks great! Did you take a hit on fuel mileage? If so, how much?
So for the OBX model it comes with 18” wheels but I see u replaced with 17” wheels. Can you tell me the reasoning for this as I’m not a tire expert but what I read is the 18” wheels don’t allow enough sidewall for a bigger tire? Is that correct?Well, I’ve had my Outer Banks for a year & a half and have finally gotten around to the modifications I’ve been itching to do.
From tops to bots-

Exactly, Todd. Less wheel, more rubber- which is what I wanted. So for the OBX model it comes with 18” wheels but I see u replaced with 17” wheels. The bigger the wheel, the less rubber on the tire. Ever see those giant wheels with the smallest of rubber tires ringing them? An 18” wheel will support a tire with less sidewall/rubber - to your point - than a 17” wheel. A 19” wheel will have less rubber/sidewall than an 18”.So for the OBX model it comes with 18” wheels but I see u replaced with 17” wheels. 31" tires are going to rub, really bad. You will probably find that out while leaving the tire shop or backing out of the driveway. We're entering into 'mod' mode in our household. Son's birthday is coming up, and he and I have been talking about some things he wants to do to his Badlands. As a result, I ordered a 1.75" lift today, and ordered some 31" BF Goodrich K02 tires. Should give the Badlands a beefier stance.
It won’t. Not throwing 31” wheels on an otherwise stock Badlands.31" tires are going to rub, really bad. You will probably find that out while leaving the tire shop or backing out of the driveway.
Sorry, but a lift will not change the rubbing problem. The rub is at the back of the wheel well and only happens with the wheel turned. If this were not the case, lots of people here, including me, would have 31’s.It won’t. Not throwing 31” wheels on an otherwise stock Badlands.
yes - of course - without the lift kit, this would not work. With a 1.75” lift kit, it’s going to work just fine and will be around 3” in total lift once finished.
