The new rearend is back ordered until September. They have another Bronco Sport on the lot. I’m trying to get them to swap the parts out of that one into mine. I don’t expect they will, but we’ll see.

First I’ve heard of something like that.

that sucks. Hopefully a quick turnaround and a great ownership experience for years to come.
There was somebody else in this forum that had a similar issue. They replaced the rearend and it was still making noise, had to replace the power transfer unit. Hopefully a new diff/axle housing and I’ll be good to go.

We bought a 2022 Bronco Sport Big Bend last Saturday. It had 2 miles on it when we left the dealership. At around 100 miles, I started hearing a whining sound. Long story short, after 2 trips to the dealership, they agreed that the rearend is bad and ordered one, and gave us a loaner. Had not even had the car a week, less than 400 miles. This is our first Ford and I’m regretting it. Anybody else have this problem or something similar?
Owned only Fords since 2010. Not a single defect.

We have a love/hate relationship with Ford. Buying new since 1979, E250 where the front end was always needing some repair. The rest of the van was always awesome. Our 1992 Grand Marquis puked tranny fluid all over our driveway the night we drove it home. Best car ever by the way. Various Sables, Tauruses, Mustangs and Escapes trouble free. The 2002 Excursion that was babied but disintegrated into Swiss cheese with no satisfaction from Ford what so ever. Currently Explorer, Bronco Sport with another on the way, overall HAPPY with our choices. The fact that you at least got a loaner implies promise that your dealer will take care of you. We have been lucky with dealers.
Good luck ?

Ask them to swap a Badlands rear in it see if they can get one of those?

I have driven nothing but mustangs since 93 and no issues. Try wife drives a 2013 flex and the only issues are because she got tboned by a hit and run driver in an expedition at high speeds (flex is a BEAST
not even close to totaled and my wife and kids are alive) and now I traded for my sport. (No more stang
 bitter sweet). No issues.

there are always lemons in any line of production no matter the brand or industry. The only ones that think fords are systemically unreliable are non ford drivers.

im sorry to hear you are having issues. The only time I heard a noise was when my teenage son put something on the console and hit the 4x4 and rear diff buttons on accident at the light. Did scare me for a second and I swore it sounded weird after that. But it was totally just my paranoia. I got them off soon enough.

I hope ford takes care of you or that you have favorable lemon laws in your state. It happens.
I feel your pain! I have owned 5 Mustangs! They were all great except for the 1982 with a four cylinder engine (poor choice on my part). I love my 2022 Badlands and don’t even remember the Mustangs! In addition to my good fortune in having a pretty flawless BS, it’s a lot easier to get in and out of now that I’m 60+. To the OP, I hope that Ford will take care of you as well as they have taken care of me!

im almost 50 (stay away next year!) and figured I needed to just bite the bullet. Plus, I always loved broncos since I was a kid.

my first stang was a 91 4banger manual. Wasn’t bad per se. but it wasn’t a beast either. Then I had a 96 6banger, the. A 98GT (notice the upgrades haha) which I drove neigh on 20yrs. The air on finally died and it was not made anymore. So would be tons to fix it.

then I “upgraded” to a used 2015 4banger. I say upgrade because hell, it had more horses than my 98. It was FUN!!! But with a 9, 12 and 18yr old + wife it made sense to change (she does drive the flex still). Soooo. Ford did a cool thing and brought back this truck
. And did a version that doesn’t drink quite as much and does more than you ever will (I did to myself) haha.

haven’t looked back.

You remind me of a younger me! I started with a ‘66 with more rust than car (but tons of fun!), moved to the ‘82 with the 4 banger (a truly awful car. Poorly put together and no power), a beautiful ‘67 coupe with a bored over V8 (LOVED this car!), 2005 GT (perfect!), and finally a 2014 V6. It was a great run, but I’m loving my BS Badlands! Have fun!

They’ve agreed to swap the parts from the new BS on the lot and put them in mine. Can’t get to it until next week, but that’ll still be quicker than waiting for the backordered parts.

Wow
. I wouldn’t have imagined they would be willing to do that!

Me either. Thought it was a long shot when I suggested it, but they said they’d rather get me back on the road than sell that one and leave mine on the lift for another month. It hasn’t happened yet (something else might come up), but I’ve been really impressed with the dealership.

How much "regret" can happen in 1 week, especially with what should be a completely satisfactory resolution all around? Stuff happens, just a little bad luck is all.

Less than 3 hours after spending $35k on a brand new vehicle, the rearend went out in it. I definitely felt “regret” for getting rid of a good vehicle, and buying one with problems. But you’re right, stuff happens, and they’re fixing it.
