So when I first saw people posting about x-plan I thought it was some kind of financing thing and ignored it, but now that my Badlands is in production and I got my window sticker I looked into it more. I ordered the last week in January and there have already been price increases so my winder sticker is already about $2500 over what I have on my order sheet. I sent them a note reminding them of price protection but should I ask for x plan pricing?

If I am able to get a PIN for x-plan, is it worth it? How does it work, does it apply to the original order?

My brother works as a painter for a Ford dealership. He had to provide his dealership with details about me. With this information, they were able to get the authorization for a pin. It is good for a year once you get it. I gave the pin information to my dealership and they will take care of the rest. I'm saving 1600 CAD so it's worth it to me.

You'd need to see whether the price protected at the time of order is less than the current x-plan. It's up to dealerships whether to price protect x-plan prices. Retail prices are automatically price protected.

I would get a pin and then see which price is better. I used to buy all my vehicles under the Ford pricing plans. I never had to pay the current price but it’s been 15 years + so I can’t say for sure. Ford pricing plans didn’t give the dealer any options what they could charge in the past. But, they also didn’t have to accept the order either.

x-plan pricing is relevant so long as you have x-plan at the time of delivery.

however, unless you have a job that qualifies you for x-plan (usually a municipal job where the city contracts with ford for city vehicles) or a family member that has x/y/z-plan through employment with ford or otherwise, you're likely SOL. Reason being, the alternative ways to qualify for x-plan pricing requires a 3 month wait.

For example, you can become an MCA member for $30 right now, but the x-plan benefit activates after 90 days. You can also buy 100 shares of ford stock, but again, you get x-plan after 90 days, not right away.

Since you are likely receiving your car in the next few weeks/days, its unlikely that your x-plan will activate before the vehicle arrives.

also, concerning the window sticker - you are locked in to the price that the vehicle was going for at the time of order. the window sticker that populates is just a reflection of the current value with the current price increases. you don't need to worry.

If you've owned at least a 100 shares of Ford stock for 6 months or longer, you're eligible for an xplan, I believe there may be many xplans, some more generous than others. As I'm a Ford stock holder I use it. I've used it a few times and have saved some money... I don't remember how much, but every little bit helps. If you're a stock holder you can google stock holder xplan and you'll find instructions on what to do. I received my pin within 24 hours of emailing them my evidence. If a person buys Fords, it wouldn't hurt to own 100 shares of Ford stock just to get the benefit...

So the easy way is a 90 wait with a MCA membership for $30 bucks on the year.
I did mine back in February expecting a May delivery. Glad I did. My truck showed. 1. Price protected. MSRP 39,175. My x-plan price 37,991. Then 1000 off for pre-order. 36,991. My same truck today MSRP 43,300. Also dealer fees locked at 100 bc X-Plan as well.

It saved me about $1900. Yeah worth it. I needed the PIN when I went in to financing. It's not too late, you could probably get the pin now, it's good for a full year. Provide it to the dealer and they can apply it now or during financing.

I still have no build date so it might be worth buying that $30 MCA membership right now. Just curious before I pull the trigger - Are all dealerships required to accept X Plan pricing? Will my price protection stack with X Plan, or is it one or the other?

You may want to verify you still get the x plan with MCA. I thought I read someplace they were no longer doing that. I could be wrong but I’d check first to make sure it’s still a benefit to MCA.

With the delays in production scheduling on my BS and after reading the comments on this post, last night I signed up for the Digital Membership for $35 which showed to include the X-Plan included. I may with any luck get my BS before the 90 day minimum to qualify for the X-Plan but for $35, I didn't have much to lose.
