After driving some 200 miles this morning, w/1290 miles on the odometer, I decided to stop at my local Ford Dealership and have my first oil change done.

Normally on a new vehicle, I would do just the oil filter at that mileage, adding replacement oil as needed, when I use to do my own oil changes, since the oil is still perfectly OK, but I wanted to switch over to Full Synthetic Oil, especially w/the Turbocharger.

I also wanted to get a good look under my vehicle up on the lift in order to get a better look at what the underside really looked like on my Badlands, as well as what skid plates that it had.

Good pics, will save a few people from having to roll around on the pavement..

BL has a metal guard over the evap canister which is concealed by the driver-side felt cover. I already tore my felt cover between a rock and this guard, and several folks with BB/OB trim have damaged their canisters. The felt does provide some noise damping to improve cabin noise levels, otherwise if you're spending much time off-road, you should remove it.

Thanks for confirming. I was pretty sure this is the case, but I couldn't bring myself to actually walk out to the garage and check. :like:

I tore the front of the carpet loose on the driver's side the first time I went off road with my BL. It appears there are electric and gas lines that it is supposed to protect.
