Has anyone installed a second turbo to their car? If so what size?

1) It would be cheaper and way easier to just buy a BS that has the larger engine.
2) The engine bay is rather cramped. I’m not sure where you’d put an extra turbo and it’s associated plumbing.

The OEM turbo is a twin scroll unit, so it already performs the function of a second turbo in a typical twin-turbo setup. That aside, there is only one exhaust manifold on the engine, and it already has a turbocharger installed on it. Where would you install a second turbo.

If anything, you would swap the turbo for a larger turbo instead of adding another. That can be kind of tricky to pick the right size to get increased performance (not just a higher peak power) and maintain drivability. If you have the Badlands, there could be some starting points to look at in the Ford Focus world.

Actually, there are in-production vehicles that have both a turbo AND a supercharger.
Yes, you are correct. I didn't mean to imply it wasn't a possibility, although a few years ago I would have wondered.

Broncos with missing engine covers are factory modified for additional turbos.

A lot of Focus ST ppl put a 2.3 crank and pistons into the 2.0 engine block to make it a 2.3. Then bigger turbo, ported head, better intake and exhaust, and tune ect ect.

But never heard of anyone second turbo on a three or four cylinder.

You might check into swapping out the compressor wheel to gain a little boost or add a tuner. I don't know if either is available for the 1.5. I did both on my old 7.3 PS and gained about 100 hp.
