About three weeks ago, my front left TMPS began going in and out of service. Finally it just stayed off with dash light reminding me constantly that it isn't working. I had an appointment for oil change, tire rotation, CSP 24B47 update and the TMPS evaluation. They did the oil change and tire rotation. They said it would take longer to to the CSP 24B47 and would need to keep the Bronco. Well that means I would get it back next week. So I made an appointment. On the TPMS issue, yes it appears to be bad. It is not covered but hey have one they can install for $192.00. My car has 6000 miles. I also have a Premier Vehicle warranty and service contract for oil changes and other regular maintenance things. I am sure people in here have had this experience. Before I posted this I googled it and was taken to the Ford Mustang forums where there were many disgruntled members. I further checked to see if other Auto manufacturers cover this item. It seems that Chrysler and GM cover it in the bumper to bumper warranties. Or so it seems.
The service guy that I work with there, said that they could do a diagnostics to see if it might be a body module that is malfunctioning. If so they would cover it. This could be possible, because rotating the tires, the dash indicator shows the same front left TMPS failing. However the tire that was malfunctioning is no longer there and has been rotated away from that position.
A little more information on my vehicle insurance coverage. About 3 months ago I had and punctured tire and my insurance covered the tire, less my $50 deductible. I will inquire with them before returning to the dealership. I fear the diagnostic will require a fee that will be rebated if the body module is defective.
Has anyone else had this problem with Ford?
