About three weeks ago, my front left TMPS began going in and out of service. Finally it just stayed off with dash light reminding me constantly that it isn't working. I had an appointment for oil change, tire rotation, CSP 24B47 update and the TMPS evaluation. They did the oil change and tire rotation. They said it would take longer to to the CSP 24B47 and would need to keep the Bronco. Well that means I would get it back next week. So I made an appointment. On the TPMS issue, yes it appears to be bad. It is not covered but hey have one they can install for $192.00. My car has 6000 miles. I also have a Premier Vehicle warranty and service contract for oil changes and other regular maintenance things. I am sure people in here have had this experience. Before I posted this I googled it and was taken to the Ford Mustang forums where there were many disgruntled members. I further checked to see if other Auto manufacturers cover this item. It seems that Chrysler and GM cover it in the bumper to bumper warranties. Or so it seems.
The service guy that I work with there, said that they could do a diagnostics to see if it might be a body module that is malfunctioning. If so they would cover it. This could be possible, because rotating the tires, the dash indicator shows the same front left TMPS failing. However the tire that was malfunctioning is no longer there and has been rotated away from that position.
A little more information on my vehicle insurance coverage. About 3 months ago I had and punctured tire and my insurance covered the tire, less my $50 deductible. I will inquire with them before returning to the dealership. I fear the diagnostic will require a fee that will be rebated if the body module is defective.
Has anyone else had this problem with Ford?

@Cobrablues I have not had the issue you stated however here are some suggestions… feel free to ignore these …

did you contact discount tire (or another tire shop in your area if there are no DTs near you) and see what one tire TPMS Sensor costs?

Also … you said it’s always the front left location no matter that it’s a different tire so that implies it’s not the TPMS mounted on the tire. Unless I am reading your post wrong

You could also run the procedure to force a relearn of all 4 TPMS - did u try that ?

I haven't but I have given that thought. I did, however, call my insurance company and the adviser said that it should be covered and to have Ford call them and he would "help" them understand. Either way, I should be covered. I think I will call DT and see what the say.
I guess the most irritating thing is that other manufacturers do cover it.

Yes I do agree it’s irritating and if you are referring to the 36 month 36k miles warranty that’s bumper to bumper so TPMS seems like it’s covered but I haven’t carefully read the bumper to bumper warranty in awhile to see if TPMS is specifically called out

Btw I updated my prior post so you might want to reread since I’m not sure if you saw the current version of my prior post

OK. DT said they have them for $62.00 and if everything goes south I will just get it there.

And your profile says you have a 2024 badlands so it’s a mystery why your dealership won’t fix the TPMS under the factory warranty

Exactly. It's under the factory warranty and also an insurance policy Ford sold me with EG Assurance.

I haven't tried this. The tires are nitrogen filled and I am not sure if putting regular air would make a difference. I'm thinking probably not. This also takes me back to maybe the body module has malfunctioned since it didn't recognized a different tire in that location.

I wouldn’t try the TPMS reset procedure either because your vehicle is under the factory warranty (36 month, 3 years whichever occurs first). The dealership is supposed to diagnose and fix the TPMS under your factory warranty for $0.

(The dealership might be aware you had punctured a tire and is using that as a reason to deny warranty coverage for the TPMS but that’s just my guess)

You are well covered with warranty, insurance and maintenance:

factory warranty (36 month, 3 years whichever occurs first)

EG Assurance

Premier Vehicle warranty and service contract for oil changes and other regular maintenance

Just a suggestion which you can ignore but if I were you I would look into canceling EG Assurance if you can get most of your money back and instead purchase the FORD Extended Service Plan (ESP) from one of the Ford discount internet providers like Granger Ford (@Granger Ford), Zeigler Ford (I used their PAYINFULL PROMO CODE to save $250), or Flood Ford, etc. I do not know what EG Assurance provides but if it’s better than Ford ESP that would be the reason to keep EG.

Obviously under factory warranty. I looked at the 24 warranty book and saw no exclusions for the TPMS. You mention a Ford insurance policy. Did the Ford Dealer replace the tire? That is the only out I can see for the dealer if it was an independent tire dealer that replaced the tire.

Being under the manufacturer warranty I would not replace the TPMS by using an independent tire store. That is a sure fire way to have the dealer claim it is not covered under warranty. I am also assuming from your description that the issue is easily verified since the message appears on the dashboard. I would let the dealer diagnose the problem with the understanding that they should not charge you for the diagnoses as the issue should be covered under warranty (or have them show you where the TPMS is specifically excluded) or find another dealer. I would also contact Ford and create a case file.

I agree with everything that dude said including looking at replacing your current insurance with a Ford Protect Premier Extended warranty.

Actually the dealership replaced the tire through my insurance. The TPMS wasn't affected. I will look into my insurance.

Theres nothing to look at. It is 100% covered. If they say it’s not, they are mistaken. I believe Ford, Nissan, some GM and Subaru use the same supplier. I had a failure on my Chevy and it was covered. The components are cheap and fail often. My wife’s 2016 Explorer was covered 7 years ago. Assuming no alteration, no outside damage, its a free warranty replacement

ACtually, they did rotate the tires. In the notes on the paperwork, they noted that it was relocated to the rear and would not reset. I am grateful for all the responses on here. I can see a fight with Ford if they don't honor the warranty. My service writer was on my side but they told him they would not cover it unless it was the BCM. There are other Ford dealerships in Albuquerque. I will just wait and see what happens with the appointment next week. Bottom line is I will not pay Ford for something I can get done for 1/3 of the cost at Discount Tire. I now see why Ford has been bashed for so many years.
