My poor 2023 Bronco Sport Big Bend was rear-ended and is totaled. The insurance company is going to give me an as-yet-undetermined sum to replace it. As I look at used options online, I don't see any with a hitch receiver, which I have due to occasionally pulling a small trailer. When buying the vehicle new, I purchased the towing package. This includes the hitch receiver, wiring (which I needed modified), and "trailer sway control". If I purchase a used BS without Ford's towing package, I can easily add a hitch receiver and wiring. But can I add the trailer sway control? What does this consist of? Thanks everyone.

I would stay with a factory tow package for sure.

Depending on the year and trim level I believe it also added a transmission cooler or oil cooler.

Can't remember which one. Also, it adds a full-size spare.

A factory tow package was a must for me when I bought my 2021 Badlands.

With my 2025 BL it's standard but it's not listed on my window sticker as such.

I'd look for one with the factory tow package. I'm not a fan of used vehicles, so if it were me, I'd be looking at new offerings.

I believe all the early year Sports have trailer sway control (my 21 Badlands has it and I do not have the tow package) I've read other posts stating the same.
I don't know if later model years have it, with Ford changing what's standard and what's optional latlely.
Even with small trailers you can add friction type sway control for less than $100 dollars if for anything else piece of mind.
