Any suggestions for touching up this area? It's the grey right under the front camera. (Not sure what happened...previous owner damage)

I think because of the design of the front grill area this is bound to happen. Same thing for the more upright windshield getting chips and cracks. As far as touching up the grill with touch up paint I am guessing that Ford does not have the specific paint color to touch up the grill. I think that Ford should have the color considering how common I think this is. Even the headlights are a big target for chipping and cracking from flying debris kicked up From the road.

Someone else on this forum might have a more specific solution since they may have dealt with this but I would start by checking with the dealer parts department to see if they have the correct paint color. Another option might be to talk to the service department or body shop as they may have an outside contractor who comes to the dealer to touch up the inside plastic parts on the dealer's used inventory and sometimes new cars that come in with scratched plastic dashboards and plastic panels. I do not know if the paint that the contractor uses is suitable for outside use.

A last resort might be to look at the different paint colors that Ford does have across their line of cars and trucks that they build for one that matches as closely as possible. maybe someone on the forum who has been through trying to touch up the grill knows of a paint that matches closely.

You could get some PPF applied to the entire front to help try and prevent further marks.

It's a lost cause though in the end. My BS has so many nicks, chips, and scratches on the front from road debris and life in general that IMO it's not worth worrying about. A touch up paint pen though would be a nice investment for the actual paint but not the plastic grill.

Is the grill color same as the rims ? (carbonized grey metallic, ford code M7). I ordered an M 7 touchup pen for my rims and will see if it’s also a match for the grill ….

Yes , Carbonized Grey Metallic is the correct color. I picked up my touch up today and tested it with a small dab on the top of my open grill. See the circular glob of touchup paint above the Ford stamping.

Best way to minimize these nicks is to leave a lot of distance between you and the car ahead.

Appreciate the feedback, but this damage was done by the first owner ... I am the second.
