Yes I’m rather curious to see how this might all play out with my dealer now. I need the price protection more than the x plan as I think he was giving me a decent deal with something off MSRP anyways. So at this point, if I have to pay MSRP based on last November’s pricing, I’m farther ahead than X plan on current pricing.

Obviously the best for me as a customer is X plan based on the old invoice price at time of order. If my dealer actually honors that though I might be a little surprised. We shall see.
All you can do is try. A lot depends on your dealer. Like I said before, many dealers have said there is no price protection and that the 1K custom order is not applicable to the BS. You have it in writing above what Ford has said. I’ve bought plenty of cars using the A and Z plan. Price changes were never an issue but I always ordered from the beginning using it.

All you can do is try. Worse they can say us no and you can either argue or walk away or accept and buy. Others have said they have added it at the end and it was accepted.

x-plan pricing is relevant so long as you have it at the time of delivery.

however, unless you have a job that qualifies you for x-plan (usually a municipal job that where the city contracts with ford for city vehicles) or a family member that has x-plan, youre like SOL. Reason being, the alternative ways to qualify for x-plan pricing require a month wait. for example, you can become an MCA member for $30 right now, but the x-plan benefit activates after 90 days. You can also buy 100 shares of ford stock, but again, you get x-plan after 90 day, not right away.

since you are likely receiving your car in the next few weeks/days, its unlikely that your x-plan will activate before the vehicle arrives.

also, as far as the window sticker - you are locked in to the price that the vehicle was going for at the time of order. the window sticker that populates is just a reflection of the current value with the current price increases. you dont need to worry.
i got xplan pricing by signing up for the mustang club of America. It letsyou generate a pin pretty much automatically. Best 25 bucks I’ve ever spent.

When I picked up my car, the dealership asked me for the pin and a copy of my membership card to verify with ford that i actually am entitled to the X-plan benefit.

They gave me the discount right away, but they said that if ford came back and said that i didnt qualify yet, i would have to pay the money back. I had already been a member for 6-7 months, so it wasnt a problem, but it might not work out for OP.

I'd been a member for 48 hours, the never asked for a card just an xplan pin. As long as theres a pin I'm not aware of anyone having any additional verification actually performed. I've got relatives who've purchased more than two fords (for their businesses) in a calendar year with mustang club pins as well and its never been flagged.

Regardless, there's no risk other than being out 25 bucks. Either OP gets the xplan price and thats great, or he doesn't and he pays what he would have paid anyway.
