Ok.... I don't like "Sport", as it reminds me of what an older guy would say to a young boy as he's messing up the boy's hair. "That's ok Sport, you'll get'em next time." It also (IMHO) dose not associate well with "Ruggedness" in which the BabyBronco is supposed to offer over the Escape. Was the same person who decided to rename Taurus to 500 the same person to decide on Sport? If it does end up (which from leeks it appears to be) Sport, well, that alone will most likely push me to look something else........ I might as well start looking at a Honda Pilot/Passport, as those names (to me) sound much more Rugged than Sport.

I actually like Maverick or Adventure over Sport, but feel that it's too late....
Come on FoMoCo, give it a Rugged Name, please!

So... what are your thoughts?

The name is probably set in stone by now considering the debut is expected in just a couple of months. I can live with the Sport name, it's nice and succinct and brings to mind an image of a smaller/lighter Bronco. And if it's as rugged as that product map shows, it won't matter what the name is, it'll be successful. And I wouldn't let a name decide whether I buy a vehicle or not.

Ditto. @The Pope,
"Sport" replaced "Deluxe" back in the Fifties for models for which the manufacturers couldn't decide on a name. Ford motor Company is going through a dysfunctional period right now, from the Board through morale at some plants, to include violence. So it is understandable that they would have an entire vehicle line, Bronco "Sport," to differentiate it from the Ranger (which has a "Sport Appearance Group" optional trim by the way)-derived Bronco but also an Explorer "Sport" as a trim level of a vehicle line. Mavrick was used for the Escape in other markets, but it would be OK to use IMO again. Adventurer would also be acceptable. It was last used by Chrysler Corp. for the top trim D- & W-series Dodge pickups through the early eighties, and was originally a De Soto trim level in the Fifties. Trademarks get dropped and picked up by others all the time. "Ranger" and "Citation" were both Edsel trims.

Yes, it's probably set in stone by now as @Mustang313 mentioned.

Now going by the Chart is the other post (https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/2021-bronco-sport-baby-bronco-will-be-very-rugged-says-ford-presentation.1028/#post-22289), the BabyBronco is being called "Small Rugged Utility", so FoMoCo could have called it a "Bronco SRU" and that would have been perfectly fine with me as well.

But with all of the goings on within FoMoCo right now, yes, decisions like this are more than likely on the back burner for now.

Off topic hijack for a sentence or two:
In the fall of 1959, Ford's "Whiz Kids"management made the decision to terminate the Edsel Division, there was a small run of 1960 Edsels produced. But meanwhile, a Falcon variant was being tooled up in response to a demand for smaller economical cars. This was to be sold as the Edsel Comet, but was handed to the Mercury Division, which sold the car staring with the 1962 model year (fall '61). The "62-'63 Comets had no Mercury badging, just "Comet," until the 1964 model.

I have an Edge Sport, w/roush tune. I want the same performance, but with more rugged capabilities. (Ranger'esque.)

Bronco sport works.

Theoretically it should be just smaller than a edge. But I don’t think you’re going to be getting the 2.7 L in it. May be a 2.3 if we’re lucky.
