Hi All,
I just traded my 21 Outer Banks for the 24 model. Very happy with everything and like the slightly different red (more orangey)
I kept the roof bars from the 21 but now realized they don't fit on the 24.
The rails are now wider and have a slightly different width and slant.
On a side note ... they rails also have now the front opening as previously only seen on Badlands, which allows to place the bar further to the front.
I looked online and no one offers roof bars for the 24 Outer Banks. I tried also the previous company (FengYu) who's bars fit perfectly the 21 outer Banks.
I liked them because of their low profile / not sticking up in the air and not extending width of the rails. Certainly don't like the snobby ones from Thule, etc. for price and looks.

Please see attached image about style ... nothing for 2024 Outer Banks, as with all other brands.

Is it too early for expecting anything on the market?
Would anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks

If you have the opening in your front roof rail bracket then you most likely have the "Off Road" rails like those on the Badlands. Ford may have gone to the Off Road version on all models for '24. Or, maybe that's what they had available during manufacture.

Just spitballing.

Outerbanks adopted the Badlands “off-road” cross rails for the 22 model year forward. There are two OEM part numbers for the crossbars. Be sure to get the “off-road” style.

Hi RWT,
yes, the rails have those openings at the front. So, these rails must be/are different and that's why newer Outer Banks AND Badlands are never in the same category with the other models when it comes to roof racks.
If that's true, I guess what fits the Badlands would also fit the Outer Banks (off-road rails) ... even though nothing in the 2024 Advertisement says "Off-Road". But they might have just had some of those rails lying around ... ?
Anyways, (and anyone) please let me know if there is something that fits those rails.
Thanks

Thanks, Jill
that confirms the two different styles and the fact that newer Outer Banks have the Off-Road style.

Regarding my preference for low profile style ... I just have to wait if something comes up.

Just a thought, take a look at the bars from Harbor Freight (if you have one in your area). I’m kinda’ cheap and I put them on my ’21 Badlands for less than $100. They’ve held up well in the CA sun. They do hang out past the side rails, but with a little effort you could shorten them up during install and get them pretty close to the rails.
They are low profile so careful if you have a sunroof. Mounted in the right position you can open the sunroof with no problem as long as you’re not carrying anything on the bars at the time.
I’m very happy with mine and the price was right.
