First go to Settings on the 8” Display and check the version of Sync for this version or a later version (then if necessary download Sync from the ford website to a USB Device and follow Ford”s instructions to install)

SYNC 3, Software Version: 3.4 Build 23188 PRODUCT

Report back if you are already running that version and there will be a few other Settings to check. However… randomly and not often I will see the same message — I ignore it.

It comes on if you have your Bluetooth turned off so your phone is not detected. Ford uses location data collected through your phone it what I have deduced. If not, it uses the onboard electronics to track location data.

100% of the time if I turn Bluetooth off on my phone before getting in the vehicle, then this message will appear.

Will that data prove I wasn't speeding if I get in a wreck? Or will it have video of the accident taken through the front camera?

It will also come up if you drive the vehicle & do not have your phone with you. Sometimes when we run out for food shopping or to go to dinner out my wife leaves her phone home & it will come up on the screen. We will just hit OK & move on.
