Nice follow up full review from Brake Check Show in a Badlands w/Badlands Package. Liked the straightforward review, and solid production and good spacing of some neat B-roll!

1000% I don't understand the amount of gatekeeping that I see pointed towards the sport and in youtube comments both about the Bronco name and its offroad capability. There's so many reviews out there where reviewer starts off with instant doubt as like a disclaimer so those gatekeeping try hards don't discredit them or something.Interesting, like so many journalists/reviewers who initially don' have the facts, or, have never sat in it or driven it -- they lead with all of their negative biases -- then, they sit in it and drive it. It's not the "real Bronco," it's not a "real SUV," it's not "real 4WD," it doesn't have a frame rail chassis or center locking diff or a low range transfer case or mechanical locking rear (at least) diff and so on. Then they drive it. Sure it's a "crossover" of course -- but it's past time to ditch what these reviewers think those negatives are -- or were, those ideas that these so-called classes are mutually exclusive are outdated. And about "not real 4WD" -- if it can power any one wheel at least at any time (decided by current traction), it's 4WD. They will say if you can't lock a center diff in 4WD then it isn't -- but all Sports are 4A all the time, they don't just get stuck, if there is traction at at least one wheel it will transfer torque to that wheel and move you forward. The Badlands/FE adds the 4WD and rear diff lock capabilities to closer resemble their conservative definition of "real 4WD," but there are plenty of hard-core "real" ones out there with no locking front or rear diff either. They might still choose to say it simply depends upon one thing then -- being locked in 4WD (center diff lock, if we must) with constant 50/50 torque front-to-rear -- which eliminates a lot of driving modes on most of the best modern 4WD vehicles. The BRONCO has all of that, but also an optional "advanced" 4A mode that distributes torque all around automatically all the time -- pretty much like the Sport. I'm at least grateful to see this turn into an overall positive review by the end, when they were faced with how well the Sport actually drives, room, comfort, etc.
Yesterday I saw a "youtuber/journalist " doing some reviews for the Bronco Sport with a Volvo C90... in the same video like comparative....came on....Interesting, like so many journalists/reviewers who initially don' have the facts, or, have never sat in it or driven it -- they lead with all of their negative biases -- then, they sit in it and drive it. Gatekeeping....that's *perfect *.1000% I don't understand the amount of gatekeeping that I see pointed towards the sport and in youtube comments both about the Bronco name and its offroad capability. And still didn't they claim 5.9 sec.?0-60 on dirt, love it![]()
Those guys are starving for attentionYesterday I saw a "youtuber/journalist " doing some reviews for the Bronco Sport with a Volvo C90... in the same video like comparative....came on....
https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/big-bronco-off-road.2157/#post-37839I'm curious as to what you folks are talking about with regards to "gatekeeping" or "negative bias". You agree that the big Bronco is a far more capable off roader than the sport ...or no?
There's a lot of confusion with the general public about there being two different Broncos and I think it's a good idea to ensure people know this isn't the purpose build offroader that the big Bronco is.
I agree that off road capability is a spectrum and not a yes/no question. With custom Wranglers/Broncos at the top end and Sports somewhere in the middle.
Yeah, those are not remotely the same trails. People are really fooling themselves if they think the Sport is anything close to the capabilities of the big Bronco.https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/big-bronco-off-road.2157/#post-37839
This is what I mean, ironically it's your post too lol.
I'm not saying that the BS is on the same par as the big bronco, but saying stuff like,
"Doing 65, at 7 min in, on that trail in a Sport or Cherokee will shake it to pieces." and the next poster showing the sport literally doing that same thing, is what I'm talking about when I say "gatekeeping".
It doesn't make sense to say here that you agree that off road capability is a spectrum, then post something saying, this is what a "TRUE" bronco can do then saying that the same thing done in a BS will shake it to pieces.
Not looking to argue or anything just pointing something out![]()
100% fair, I just don't understand the need to make it a point on a forum dedicated to the BS. Like why go out of your way to say "hey look at what the REAL bronco can do" on the Bronco Sport forum lol.Yeah, those are not remotely the same trails. People are really fooling themselves if they think the Sport is anything close to the capabilities of the big Bronco.
