Now that it's really cold here (-20 C) overnight, and our Bronco Sport came without a block heater I've been using the remote start (app or fob) to let it run a bit or warm it up before driving. I find the remote start feature (app or fob) to be quite inconsistent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Any thoughts?

I use the remote on the fob and it has always worked for me. Tried the app once and it worked but was much slower but worked. Wrote that off to poor cell coverage in my rural area and never tried it again.

I've tried twice in the past week now Wisconsin is in its January Early phase and both times the app says it's system, but when I get to the Bronco it is not started. 🤷

How soon after you started it do you get there because mine only stays running for 10 minutes. I think you can adjust it for a longer time but there’s many times I’ve started my bronco and went to park my truck by the time I got back to the bronco it wasn’t running. I know it started because I could see it from the scales.

Definitely less than 10 minutes. I figured the app thinks it's communicating with the Bronco when it's not.

Wanted to say after my original reply that with Madison's below 0°F morning lows of late, I've been using the Ford App remote start a LOT. And I'm happy to say that after a few initial flubs it's been pretty consistently working. Very much like that I can engage the heated seats and set the climate to last a bit longer. Very nice to get into a warm cabin when it's -9°F outside.

Mine is still inconsistent (app and fob). Strangely sometimes when i try to start it for the first time in the morning I get an error message saying that it won't work because of "too many failed attempts". I think I need to take it in to my dealer to figure out what's going on.
