Manufacturer-Supplied Component Description: 225/60R18 100H Primacy A/S Tire

Manufacturer-Supplied Component Part Number: M1PC-1508-E1A

Only 78 Bronco Sport vehicles may be affected.
Curiously, FA's photo of a Bronco Sport Badlands has Falken WIldpeaks on it, which are not the tires that are affected. That's lazy journalism using stock photos.

Michelin Primacy surprisingly.
Michelin had other recalls on Cross Climate where they had not included some DOT mandated ratings on the sidewall. An example of a manufacturing defect, but which wouldn't affect the tires performance. They also had a recall on Agilis Cross Climate snow tires which did not meet snow performance specs (three peak snow symbol, aka Alpine symbol). These weren't related to the Bronco Sport nor Maverick tire recalls. That latter recall was for 500k tires.
Goodyear, Firestone and others have had to issue recalls for their tires over the years. It's not unusual, but fortunately infrequent.
In the late 70s, there was the infamous Firestone 500 recall. I have first hand knowledge of one of those failures, doing microscopic analysis of the incomplete coatings on the steel belts leading to delamination, blowout and a serious auto accident. I was a poor starving grad student at the time. It wasn't too unusual for an entity to contact a University's engineering or science departments for expertise of their professors and analytical labs. Sometimes, it was corporate entities, and sometimes lawyers representing either party of a lawsuit seeking that expertise.
