There has been many posts regarding issues after having Recall 24S24 PCM/BCM software update completed. I wanted to try and have a place where those who had the recall could post their experience after having it completed. Curious to see what percentage had problems after the software update. Also is anyone aware of the same problems showing up on the Mavericks after they were updated or does it seem to be primarily the Bronco's having issues.

From what I understand, the recall programming was updated to address issues with the initial recall programming.

I tried to schedule this recall as soon as it was announced, even before I received the official notice. My dealership specifically discouraged me from doing so, suggesting I wait for an updated software patch. Apparently, the first version had caused a number of unsold vehicles on the lot to become inoperable. I waited for the updated patch and for the dealer to successfully run a few updates on other vehicles before having mine done. The recall was completed three weeks ago, and I have not had any issues since.

I`m not shure if my problems are due to software update but since my BS whas updated I had 4x times experienced a start/stop failure, after stopping the car it didn't start when accelerating... twice I had this alert in the screen (it is in portuguese - "Switch to P gear and start").

I Also experienced about 5x times this month the car engine dying in the first attempt to turn it on, in the morning.... I Sent the car today for warranty for them to check what is going on...

Clearly recall 24S24 did not work for your vehicle however it is difficult to say exactly that is the issue because your battery could have degraded significantly prior to the recall such that the calibration changes Ford made could not overcome the degradation done to the battery. 100% that’s a guess because there is insufficient evidence and no follow-on information (yet) from Ford.

On the other hand, one of the calibration changes is to prevent Auto Start Stop from engaging when the battery has insufficient charge. That calibration change for reasons unknown to us failed to work for your vehicle.

I got the BS today from dealer. Apparently they couldn't measure the current battery level as discharged but they were able to reproduce the star stop failure and they got an alert of low battery in the scan during the operation.... Now they are telling me to exchange it but since the car is one year and 3 months old the battery warranty does not cover the exchange (it is one year of battery warranty standard here....) I argued that it is a Ford BS
Problem related and they have to cover the expenses because is not normal a battery last that short of time... Now I have to wait their analysis to decide if they will cover it or not. I am not sure about how to proceed in this case... It is not cheap a new battery here and this is totally related to recall issue. ??‍?

Pretty sure in US that the 12 volt battery is covered under the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. I would contact Ford and verify that battery replacement is not covered.

Since the up date my drivers-side auto up/down window is not working. I can hold it for up/down function but it won’t do it automatically.

Correcting that is easy (and likely just a random occurrence unrelated to recall 24s24).

Owners manual content:

Reset one touch windows (auto-up/auto-down), bounce-back

One-Touch Down
Press the switch fully and release it. Press again or lift it to stop the window.

One-Touch Up
Lift the switch fully and release it. Press or lift it again to stop the window.

Resetting One-Touch Up

Start the engine.
1. Lift and hold the window switch until you fully close the door window. Continue to hold the switch for a few seconds after you close the window.
2. Release the window switch.
3. Press and hold the window switch until you fully open the window.
4. Release the window switch.
5. Lift and hold the window switch until you fully close the window.
6. Test for correct window operation by carrying out the one-touch down and one-touch up features.

Bounce-Back (If Equipped)
The window stops and reverses if it detects an obstruction.
See the Owners Manual.

I have had the recall done a week ago today. Took the car on a 4 hour trip without problems and have been driving it around town with none. For the first recall with the drainage tube, I had them check the battery as the stop start only worked properly after driving the car for a long time. They replaced the battery under warrantee.

The strange thing is the paper work said something like "recall no recall" Sooo... I'll look at it again.

They did charge me $50 for checking the brakes.
