Do the brackets hang/rest or did you bolt them into the plastic?
The A36 steel plates rest on the side plastics, nothing is screwed into the Bronco Sport. Those side clips aren’t super strong, but there’s no weight on them at all. The entire panel can be removed out of the Bronco Sport.

What did you make the panel out of that you covered in carpet? Is it wood?
Yes, it’s a 3/4in wood panel, pretty strong.

How much weight can it hold?
I don’t have a number for that. The 3/4in panel is very strong, I’ve loaded the top shelf with all kinds of things and haven’t even seen it sag. That being said, i wouldn’t use it to carry tons of bricks or boxes of tiles, but it might carry a few. The steel plates will not break and the way they are mounted, I guess the limit will be how much the wood panel you use can hold.

How can I obtain the steel plates?
I’m thinking this could be a DIY package. Shipping would be too much if i also do the wood panel, that way it keeps the price down, unless you really needed it complete ready to mount, but the price will go up. For the DIY I can include the painted steel plates and all the stainless steel hardware. The only thing you would need to source is the wood panel (and carpet). Home Depot sells 2x4 (3/4in) panels, you just need to cut a few inches of to measurements I will provide. This could be for purchase on an eBay auction when available.
Let me figure out how much the DIY would be. If possible, those intested please send me a (Fb messenger) inbox msg just to get a count of how many sets will have to be made, that would make it easier for me to keep track.

Wow, I wish you worked for Ford. I bought the cargo managemen system and was very disappointed. It is too low to fit my totes under,

3/4" plywood with that short span will hold anything you can load on top of it.

Info to contact the person (probably via the Facebook post or ebay links) was listed earlier.. can you go back and read posts #1-4? You would need to contact the person via the info provided. That’s all I have.
