When I bought the car, it had 4500 miles on it. The dealer had changed the oil but I’m guessing they didn’t rotate the tires. Then I did at 10,000 miles. The tires were on the rear for the first 10,000 miles. Then I rotated them again at 15,000 miles. I currently have 19,000 miles on the car and the rear tires have been on the back for 14,000 of the 19,000 miles.
As indicated on my prior post - an X-pattern rotate (if that was done) can explain why “wear is evident on both sides of the rear, not just the driver’s side” as you stated
