I have a similar noise to the “shovel on concrete” 22’BB. I’ve noticed it is primarily on hard acceleration or in sport mode. Started happening before lift was installed. I’ll try to get a video and post it and see if any of y’all might have had this noise too.

Okay so I didn’t get a good video of it but I finally got time to get on prodemand and look up the issue of the grinding noise. It’s the fuel tank heat Shield that was installed incorrectly from the factory. Followed the steps and issue is gone. Sorry for the low quality photos, I just snapped them quickly from the computer.

Finally got myself a decent video (turn up volume) of the wierd rattle from the front driver side on acceleration. Listen carefully and you will hear it.

Anyone else have this occurring ?

Between 0 to 35 mph (50 km/hr) light on the throttle and you can hear the weird rattle sounds in the video. Seems to occur more around gear changes I think.
Reporting for the BS community that I had this exact issue on my '21 OB and corrected under TSB SSM50743/SSM51184 within the last couple of weeks. Both TSB are listed on the $0 invoice I received from the dealer. I additionally had the rear brake squeal/noise repaired under TSB 22-2326 at the same time. Unfortunately, no parts yet available for the fuel injector recall.

Note, I reported the fluttering/rattling noise to the dealer and had it inspected during the summer. They said it was normal, which I disagreed with. Decided I would bring it up again whenever I took it back in for regular service or another recall. I showed my service manager this thread/video and he was able to provide better direction to the service tech. So much better now!

Two questions, what exactly is that TSB for the rattle noise? A Google search and I could find it. And how long did you wait for your parts for the brakes? My dealership put them on order for my a month or two ago.

As mentioned in some earlier posts, it’s a component cable causing the noise. My assumption is some sort of free resonance or improper toleranced part necessitating the need for a new replacement. More info after my 2nd paragraph.

I sent a message to my service advisor 30-Oct. He replied all parts would be available towards the end of November. Small delay and personal schedule, I dropped my vehicle off 19-Dec. It was ready for pickup the evening of 21-Dec. I’d recommend reaching out to your service person to request to schedule the TSB repair(s) so they can reserve parts for you on the next go round. It helps if you consolidate multiple items into one visit. My dealer is relatively large (I’m in the DC area) so there may be politics at play if you have a small dealer fighting for parts - this is complete speculation on my part, though.

Title:Hiss Or Rattle Noise While Driving - Manual Park Release Cable
Summary:Some 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles built on or before 22-Feb-2022 may exhibit a hiss or rattle noise while driving. This may be due to an internal issue with the manual park release cable. If the noise is eliminated when the cable is disconnected from the transmission, install a new manual park release cable assembly. Refer to the Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 307-05 > Automatic Transmission External Controls > Removal and Installation.

Reporting here: my 22 BS rattle noise issue was finally resolved. I showed the dealer the SSM regarding the brake cable. They checked and replaced the cable. The mechanic further explained that the old defective cable has a bend and causes noise at some body contact area. The new cable has a foam insulation glued to the contact area. Hope this info is helpful.

Thank you all for the information in this thread. We are the 2nd owner, as of 2/22/23 with about 10,600 miles, of a 2021 BS BB. Heard this same noise early this week. We are retired and don't drive it every day, so still getting used to what is normal and what is not. Already waiting on parts for TSB brake noise in reverse.
Will have to give the service department this info to repair parking brake cable too.

I have this same problem. Even when I’m accelerating going up a hill it does it every once in a while really bad. Almost like the engine is knocking. Really bogged down
