My wife and I want to try this overlanding thing. Will the factory crossbars handle my camper?

Just line it up and back up quickly. I’d try and jack up the camper so the floor is in line with the floor of the BS. Take a few more pictures after to show us!

Maybe you could weld tires to the poles for extra support.

I’m pretty sure that camper is designed to sit in the bed of a truck and also on top of the cab. I don’t know if the weight limit on that even matters as I do not believe it is intended for suv use of any size. Apologies if I’m wrong, but that is how I’ve seen those used.

Be safe whatever you decide.

Looking at the pic, it's not intended to ride on an SUV. I wouldn't try it.

I could make it fit! Just give me an hour and a sawzall with a couple full batteries. The two will come together.

Those campers are adaptable to a great many different types of cars. I've had one on my MX-5 for nearly a decade no problem. I just make sure to change the oil every 15K miles instead of the usual 20K due to the added load on the engine. An overlanding buddy of mine even has one on his HD Sportster. We took our rigs to Moab last year for a month, had a great time.

Thanks for all the responses, but after reviewing everything, I'll just use the other truck.
