It doesn't matter if the panels are redundant or Ford used too dim / too bright bulbs or put in a feature someone doesn't want. The key is to have options for the users. That is the main thing missing from Ford and Sync but also from many manufacturers. We should be able to add or remove the Climate screen (or Nav, or Phone, etc) screens through options for the U/X.

I have the factory nav. But often I want to just put that digital compass on the home screen; can't do it. I would hate to have the seat buttons eating up 1/4 of that mini map. At least we have options to set the Sync theme to night/day and a few color options. But it's very minimal.

I don't think the trend will ever improve from here. Car builders are integrating more and more things into software that users have less freedom with. Based on Farley's mindset, this is probably my last Ford anyhow, but I can't switch to a brand where I truly OWN the whole machine. Not as long as these digital locks persist. We also have a Hyundai. When we bought the car it had these really cool digital Nixie tube graphics for the radio and media. Then along came a software update, and it changed to the ugly blockish Xbox looking 💩 on the right. What clown thought they should push out that change instead of including a software switch for the theme?? And no, there is no way to downgrade it that I have found except possibly pulling an old version off a salvage car.

That was very cool with the digital Nixie tube display !!!

unfortunately Hyundai got a lot of complaints and changed the display to what you have now based on the complaints

Oh yeah. I read that same thing- they got a lot of complaints. It's nice that they responded, but by doing it that way, they ignored millions of users that didn't vociferously say "I like this". It's just a reminder that we don't actually own the machine; at least not the software. The right thing would have been to put in an option to choose the left or right version. Heck, the Hyundai even has an option to swap the VOL and TUNE knobs' function with each other.

The only functional or visual option on my Sync (3 anyhow) is the background. The Home screen layout is exactly as Ford made it and fixed by trim level. I have to have a mini map on he left and a phone status on the right. You can't e.g. make the digital compass appear on the left and put the climate buttons where the phone info it. But that would be a really nice thing for users to be able to do with a few buttons. Look at what it takes just to get the Climate on screen. It's pretty significant investment for the average owner to get a cable and license and skills to effect this mod.

who knows, I have a 2023.
Here’s the message you replied to and you stated “it is also in your vehicle settings, I was playing with it the other day”

I have a similar vehicle as you and have not seen anything in settings related to the fan speed reduction feature.

Can u provide more details?
