Power Train Control Module has detected the power relay de-energized earlien than expected

Getting this error after hooking up and unhooking engine bay fuse box several times last night. Was re installing some grill lights last night, I'm running them to the fuse box, they are wired to a 10amp power train control fuse, which I've done before. Everything else works fine but I got this error about 10 mins ago at work when my wife started the vehicle and drove some errands. She said the check engine light is on as well. Any thoughts, opinions?

After researching it seems to be P608A code which people have had and eventually just cleared without issue, also older posts saying a battery issue? I'm wondering if it's cuz I ran the light ground wires to the neg battery bolt, I'll change the ground location later and see if that helps.

Re ran the ground wire to random bolt in engine bay, re tightened the neg bolt on battery and engine light is off now, everything running fine so issue seems to be cleared ?

I’ve had weird electrical gremlins before when installing somethingaftermarket and electrical and instead of keeping the battery ground wire flush on the chassis, I’ll put whatever I’m installing in between the ground wire and chassis thinking that it should conduct through “all the same”. But nope. Ground is finicky.

But if I put the installation piece on top of the ground wire, and then ground wire continues to sit flush on chassis? Problem disappeared.

Interesting, yeah seemed to be the issue 100%, will remember this for future installs if I need a ground location. Thanks!

The BMS does not like extra stuff wired to the negative battery terminal. A chassis ground is the best way to do it.
