I was wondering it the usb-c ports in the Bronco Sport Accessory try will power off when the ignition is off or are they active all the time ...which would lead to a battery drain. Using it to power a radar detector

I would assume it is the same as my 2022. Mine shuts off when the ignition is off. You should be able to easily test it with the device you plan on using with it.I was wondering it the usb-c ports in the Bronco Sport Accessory try will power off when the ignition is off or are they active all the time ...which would lead to a battery drain. Is this the same for 21-24 and 25 models? I know my 22 shuts off with the ignition but wasnāt sure about the 25ās. Sounds like they havenāt changed that between model years. All USB Ports and the 110V outlets turn off after a short time delay
The time delay is adjustable by using FORScan
Good question.. I was answering for ā21-ā24 models, I donāt know about 2025s (I updated my post)Is this the same for 21-24 and 25 models? I know my 22 shuts off with the ignition but wasnāt sure about the 25ās. Sounds like they havenāt changed that between model years.
I expect itās the same but like you, my experience is only with my 22. Iāve never measured the delay time but I know it shuts off. The fact this thing seems to stay alive for so long after you drive it, no wonder there were battery issues. That being said, I never had the battery failure but they did give me a new one after 3.5 years of use. I canāt say Iāve noticed much difference in the time after you shut it off now compared from before. It still makes a few noises long after when I walk by it. Iāve always attributed that to itās wanting to go for a ride!Good question.. I was answering for ā21-ā24 models, I donāt know about 2025s (I updated my post)
Or you could use a device like this one that shuts off the USB power after a programmable delay (not for use for data transfer devices, just power only)I just checked with Ford Service and tested a device. The USB-c ports on the accessory tray ARE NOT CONNECTED to the ignition circuit ... so anything that is plugged in stays on.
