Let's put the 1.5L vs 2.0 L in perspective. Let's look at 0-60 times and Quarter mile times.
https://www.carhp.com/ford/bronco-sport/0to60
0-60 1.5L 9.2 seconds
0-60 2.0L 7.7 seconds
So, 1.5 seconds difference 0-60
1/4 mile 1.5L 16.7 seconds
1/4 mile 2.0L 15.4 seconds
So 1.3 seconds difference in the standing quarter mile.
The difference is almost nothing
Some have shown the 2.0 can do 0-60 in as little as 5.9 seconds. But but...1.3 seconds. I mean I hammer 0--60 at least...never?
Appreciate your input with a dash of humor??It depends on your driving demands. I live in a congested metropolitan area that requires
prompt throttle response for vehicle acceleration. We also have lots of mountain passes. No thumping on my chest as that will probably hurt my boobs. Lol
5.9 is correct for the bad lands / first edition models , they have better times than the ladder frame broncos. According to TFL and car and driver magazine. Some have shown the 2.0 can do 0-60 in as little as 5.9 seconds.
7.7 seconds seems off. My 2.0 Escape AWD, which is heavier, is certainly faster than 7.7 seconds.
Cherry pick...that's not what the response was regarding nor how it was initially phrased. The quandary was" nobody ever said they were glad they got the 1.5 instead of the 2.0..." some bought a 1.5 for various fuel efficiency advantages and options only available on the OB.You know somebody that bought a Badlands and regretted not getting the 1.5 engine instead?
Actually, no. My quote was, "Cherry pick...that's not what the response was regarding nor how it was initially phrased. The quandary was" nobody ever said they were glad they got the 1.5 instead of the 2.0..." some bought a 1.5 for various fuel efficiency advantages and options only available on the OB.
To be clear, I understand that people may opt to go with the 1.5 engine and be very happy with the purchase. I'm not calling that into question. My point is pretty simple: I know many people that went with the 1.5 engine and later wished that they'd gone with the 2.0. I've never heard of anybody with the 2.0 express regret at not getting the 1.5.Actually, no. My quote was, "
"I wish I had the smaller engine instead of this 2.0"
Nobody Ever
To which, the response was, "Wrong." So I'm asking if he knows of anybody that has bought the Badlands and regretted not going with the smaller engine.
Easy fix...this won't go anywhere fast.Actually, no. My quote was, "
"I wish I had the smaller engine instead of this 2.0"
Nobody Ever
To which, the response was, "Wrong." So I'm asking if he knows of anybody that has bought the Badlands and regretted not going with the smaller engine.
Agreed. This won't go anywhere because it's extremely unlikely that anybody that bought the Badlands will express regret over doing so. The end. In a thread asking which model to go with, I'd think that is a relevant data point.Easy fix...this won't go anywhere fast.
Can you elaborate on what you mean by a wider stance?OB is like driving a BL in ECO mode. The wider stance and meatier tires of a BL matches the elevated performance of the 2.0. There's nothing like effortlessly passing slower cars climbing hills in northern Michigan.
