I have a 2024 Outer Banks with the B&O sound system.
The first OB I test drove had the stock radio in it, and it sounded horrendous. I test drove another with the B&O and it was a big improvement.
That said, having installed an aftermarket package in my old chevy truck last summer, the difference in performance was still vast, so I knew that my first major mod would be upgrading the sound.
Having scanned various threads on here, I quickly concluded that the best path for me would be swapping out the front and rear door speakers with the powerless plug n plays. I bought coax versions for front and back and installed them last weekend.
I didn't bother messing with the tweeters or the dash speakers; they sound fine to me (if a little overpowering), I was just looking to have more "depth" and bass in my system.
I took the opportunity spread sound deadening material over everything, and I have to say, the results are impressive. Driving with no sound is noticeably quieter, I'm really glad I did that mod (per some suggestions on here), it was worth an additional $60 and getting it done with all the panels off was a no-brainer.
I'm still breaking in the powerless speakers, I was expecting to hear a bit more power coming from behind me in the rear doors, but I'm still glad I did the upgrade.
