I was doing some light reading through the manual for the 2022 and stumbled across the GLOBAL OPENING AND CLOSING section on page 92. Since I do not have my BL yet, can anyone confirm if this works? This can be very useful if living in hot climates. I routinely will open up all the windows in my car on hot days as I'm putting my kid in his car seat to help vent out the hot air before I start it up. Thanks.

I read about this in the owners manual when I got my 2021 Big Bend. It didn't work on that model. I have since gotten a 2022 Outer Banks and tried it out the first day. Works just like it says.

Yes, works a treat. So well, in fact, my wife made to dig into her Escape with Forscan and turn the feature on for her. (For some reason Ford did not activate this feature for U.S. market Escapes.)

Works like a champ! Except, I had to get in it to close them after trying!

Thanks for posting!

You can also stop it by pressing the button a third time in case you are just cracking windows for a pet.

Love this feature. I remember my 95 Jetta had a similar setup... when you held the key it would open and close. Even did the sunroof if equipped

This is surprisingly common with many features. It's cheaper and easier to use universal components and then program them to work in certain lines and be hidden in others. Quick tech work you could enable a lot of stuff. Even folding mirrors etc.

Here’s one of the more interesting articles I’ve read on this. What I’m not sure I understand at least as it relates to cars, is why everything available isn’t programed in if the universal component can support it. Why would quick tech work be needed, if the hardware is already there so there’s no additional cost to enabling it?

For a lot of manufacturers using those features as an upgrade or as Bronco Sport has done with badging....one gets all the cool toys at a premium...but all have the tech buried in the programming. With Forscan or a technician you can unlock a lot of features but most have no.idea...or.no idea how.
