Update: Got my Bronco back today and it turns out the noise was being caused by a rock that had gotten lodged in between the sub frame and the transmission. They did the recall fix, removed the rock, and no more noise.

Can't seem to find if anyone has heard this one yet. Sound is made on medium to heavy acceleration and stops when you let off

I took it to the dealer and the noise is being caused by the turbo...

Have a 2022 BS and experience a scraping, grinding noise every time I start to accelerate, First dealership said it was the K&N CAI that I had installed ( Noise was there before installation )His solution was to turn up the radio ?? Second dealership heard the noise but still in the dark to what it is, they want me to leave the car for 3+ weeks before they even look at it. Not happy with Ford Service. Like the car but may get rid of it, have been a loyal ford owner for years but now may make a move to another brand

Noises are hard to describe accurately using words alone. Your issue might be related to a service bulletin affecting the manual park release cable. More here:

Has anyone else had an issue with the brakes grunting after you get your brake pads replaced due to the recall? I took my Big Bend in a few weeks ago for another noise (which is getting really annoying at this point), and the dealership, while they couldn't diagnose that issue, told me the brake pads were finally in. They replaced it, but then when I got it back, every time I braked at low speeds (like at a stop sign, red light, or parking) or let go of the brake, it would grunt really loudly. I brought it back to Ford, and insisted on a ride along. The technician instantly heard it and after ANOTHER week at the dealership, I just got it back and it still makes the noise, albeit much quieter.

Additionally, has anyone had a wind/buzz noise coming from the front of the vehicle upon acceleration?

For context, I purchased my Bronco Sport in April 2021. Since then it's just had random noise after random noise. I first took it in maybe May or June for a grumbling sound at lower speeds. They couldn't diagnose it, and a year later, thanks to this forum, I took it in again with the fix that one of y'all posted. They finally fixed it after 2 weeks in the shop. Then about a month ago, the car started making another noise. Only when accelerating, it would make this wind/buzz noise coming from the front of the vehicle. When I first took it in two weeks ago, they couldn't replicate it. So when I took it in again last week (because after they did the brake pads, as referenced above, the brakes started making noise), I rode along with a technician. He heard the noise and mentioned it could be normal because of the turbocharger, which is odd, because this just started after over a year of not doing that.

Also -- last time I took it in, they added nearly 90 miles to my vehicle. This time they've added 50 miles to my vehicle. Is that normal?

I'm so tired of taking it back to the dealership and being without a car days, sometimes weeks, at a time, only for them to not fix the problem or cause more issues. Has anyone had any luck with any of these issues? Or better yet, is anyone in the DC area and has had a good service advisor/dealership service dept they can recommend?

The brakes are now SO loud now that it's ridiculous for such a new car (or any car). After I complained about it enough last year, and my technician (who really did try) did all he could, I got on the phone with the service manager at the Ford dealership. His wife also owned a Bronco Sport, so he offered to drive mine and hers to compare them. He acknowledged there was a loud noise, and blamed it on the new brake pads that were installed. He said it needed time to settle in and told me to bring the BS in after 1K miles if it still made the noise, and at that point, they'd replace it again. I don't drive a lot, so about the time that I hit 1K miles, there was another recall. I waited til they FINALLY got the parts for that in, and took it in (well over 1K miles by this point, and 1 year later). The technician told me they cleaned some dust off the brake pads and that solved the problem.

Unsurprisingly to me (and I'm sure everyone else here), that did NOT solve the problem! It was quieter for about a day then came back as loud as ever. Every. Single. Time. I try to come to a full stop. It's outrageous. I called them back, who told me they could do nothing else since Ford only covered one brake pad replacement. They told me I had to reach out to Ford Corporate.

And to top it off, the rattling returned not long after this post last year, and the wind/buzz noise coming from the front of the vehicle upon acceleration is still there.

My question here--has anyone reached out to Ford Corporate, and has it worked? I'm seriously thinking about just trading it in at this point (and telling everyone who has ears to stay the heck away). I can't wait for the Ford dealership to try to give me less for the vehicle because of the noise; I'll refer them to their service department who assures me it's normal.

Just out of curiosity, has there been any thought to trying non-Ford brake pads? Wagner, Raybestos, Bosch, Centric, PowerStop, etc? Just wondering if maybe an aftermarket pad would solve the problem with the brake noise. I know it wouldn't be covered by Ford, but should be a relatively inexpensive experiment compared to what might be lost trying to trade the car in.

Noises in cars is one of the worst aspects of ownership. I have had a lot of new cars over the years and have traded several just because of seemingly incurable and/or incessant noises. I totally understand your frustration. Unfortunately, it seems like virtually every car these days develops some sort of noise. Some worse than others.
