40 years in the ar business. Be very carefull with what oil filter you put on your engine. 4 cylinder engines are famous for oil pressure to spike from. Time to time. If your filter does not have a check valve built in, you risk losing your engine or at least a big mess and a tow. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen it happen. I don't care if the Ford filter is more, it is cheap insurance to protect your investment. If you lose an engine due to an aftermarket oil filter, don't expect Ford to foot the bill to reace it, and try getting Fram or which ever brand to help you

I bought a bunch of the OEM Motorcraft filters in bulk, paying only about $7.50 a piece.

My total oil change cost is about $47.75 with oil.
my cost, as a store manager… running liquimoly molygen is $34. 😝

One of my local Ford dealerships charged me $49 last time for the Works (is always that price with the Ford coupon) .. full synthetic oil and the Ford Motorcraft oil filter plus sets the air pressure in the tires and rotates the tires. Also get a couple bucks back in ford points to use for next time.

Never had any issues with fram on any of my cars. I just dont want to pay out the ass for a filter from the dealer when i can get the same thing for half the price at another part store.
I owned a repair shop and we used all filters except except OEM and never had a problem and I still use others except OEM

I go to Quick Lane at the Ford dealer and get "The Works Package" since they also perform a multi point inspection if my Badlands needs anything I have them take care of it as well. No need to lay on the ground or roll around on my creeper or having to transport used oil to the auto parts store to dump it.

That would be the only thing worth it to go to the dealer for if it was always that price, otherwise here they charge $120 for only the oil change. I can do it for less than half of that myself. Get a couple jugs when they are on sale and im good for a bit.

I also do my own because in addition to just changing the oil and filter' I do a flush and then use an additive (MOA & EPR Motor Oil Lubrication Supplement Engine Restore)
