You actually get less ground clearance with a Black Diamond and Outer Banks than a Bronco Sport Badlands unless you add SAS. You also at those prices are not getting the Lux package so you are not getting all the bells and whistles inside and electronically that you do with a fully loaded BSBL. The prices you mention of 45k and 47k for those two Big Broncos are the most basic versions of those models with nothing added.
Hmmmmm sure :) let’s agree to disagree on what is the better value here.

don’t get me wrong, I’ve got both ?? - but I’d never pay $40k for a pumped Escape. Happy to pay low $30s, which is where most of these units actually sell.

Value is subjective. It's highly dependent on one's priorities.

Concur. I certainly can lust after a full size Bronco, but all I'd really get is less comfort and more capabilities I'd very, very rarely use.

The more I look at the '25 upgrades the more I like the new bumpers. I don't need them, but I certainly want them.

And the Bronco Sport Has a memory seat that the Bronco does Not have that is a deal breaker in our home with two drivers that are way different sizes. The Bronco Sport is much better overall then a Bronco creature comfort wise.

I've had my '22 since June 24th, '22 and my wife hasn't even sat in the driver's seat yet. It's still my new toy somehow.

The main reason to buy a Badlands is the 2.0L Ecoboost. It feels significantly better than the 1.5L. It’s like driving a different vehicle. Just a better experience overall.

Before getting our 2022 Badlands we had a 2019 Escape Titanium AWD with the 2.0.

The dealership didn’t have any Badlands available to test drive so we ended up taking a Big Bend for a spin just to get a feel for the size and whatnot.

The 1.5 immediately felt like a downgrade from the Escape’s 2.0. It felt slower, less refined and noisier.

I assume most people will be happy with the 1.5 if they haven’t experienced the 2.0.

And the Badlands base price was $6,000.00 more than my BB so the 2.0 Eco Boost better feel more refined. I would have loved a Badlands but the price was to much. That's why i installed the JMS Pedal Max on my 1.5 Eco Boost i drove the neighbors 2022 AWD Escape with the 2.0 Eco Boost and i think my 1.5 Eco Boost BS BB had better off idle throttle response than the neighbors Escape. I'm sure the Escape would blow past me after that. But the Pedal Max made a big difference in throttle response and is much more enjoyable to drive with it.I looked at this BS BL and it was $10,000.00 more than my BB.

The technical specifications bulletin indicates that the 2.0 L engine gets both direct injection and port injection. Is this new for 2025? The bulletin also indicates that the 1.5 L has only direct injection. Doesn't it already have both DI and port injection?

the 1.5 already has both.

the 2.0 was an interesting state - the Escape, Corsair received this update in 2023 but somehow the Maverick and the BS were left out. Both are now equipped with that engine.

100% correct - and you don’t get that money back on resale…just do a quick search on cars.com and compare OuterBanks vs Badlands prices - they are basically the same…but there are like 7 OuterBanks to 1 Badlands.

most people shopping for cheap SUVs are interested in high mpgs which explain the high depreciation for the Badlands.

Well, it’s official. I’ll be joining the Bronco Sport herd. Was able to test drive a 2024 BS Badlands today and that helped seal the deal on ordering a 2025 BS Badlands in Velocity Blue. Don’t know when it will be scheduled for production, but the dealer did send my contact info to Ford along with the order, so I should get some updates in the future.

I’m excited, nervous, apprehensive, joyful…but I know it may be a long wait. I had a blast driving the 2024 version, so expect the updated BS to be just as fun.

The 2.0 with the 8 speed auto in a fairly light vehicle along with the feel of steering suspension brakes makes for an outstanding driving experience. Then thow in the style and class leading off road abilities. For what it is its pretty impressive.
