Odd offer; can’t decide

I have a 2022 Outer Banks. It is Area 51 and has all the packages, towing, and some misc add ons (everything except moonroof) and 300 miles.
My dealership got a First Edition with 9000 miles that is also Area 51.
He called and wants to know if I’d like to trade because someone wants my car. It would be a straight trade.
Since I paid $37,150 for mine, it seems like I should do it but after some reviewing, the OB does have some things that the FE does not. But of course, vise-versa is true too.
Thoughts?

I have an OB. I thought I wanted a First Edition, until I found out all the things my OB has that are missing on the FE. The things that the FE has that my OB doesn't are pretty much things I would probably never use. Glad I stayed with my OB. 13 months and 14,000 miles later still happy.

I would say it depends on how you plan to use your Bronco. If you have any plans to get out in the boonies you may want the better off-road capabilities of the First Edition. If this is a daily driver used for commuting then the better fuel economy of the OB might suit you better.

Hmmmm, that’s a tough one. The ‘21 FE would have the better powertrain and all the “extras” the ‘22 models don’t have like folding headrests etc. But the 9000 miles vs 300 miles would be the hang up for me. I’d have to park em side by side and really think about it.

Unless you really want the 2.0 and beefier running gear, then you just have to go for it.

Exactly. I have an OB also, but would really dig the 2.0l from the BL. Everything else on there I would probably never use so for me the trade off was worth it. I have all the luxuries provided by the BL without having to add the Badlands/Premium package or the upcharge (at the time) of the FE.

That's a tough choice. OP will gain the 2.0L, better 4x4 system, and the exclusivity (at least in our little BS world) of having a FE but lose some of the CoPilot360/360+ features. Plus he's getting a truck that's a year older with almost a year's worth of extra miles.

Me, PERSONALLY, I would probably pass. I have no intention of doing any major off-roading so a few of those extra features (again besides the 4 cyl) are not worth it to me over what the OB already provides.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I’ve never been off-roading before. Sounds fun but here in Illinois, the best we usually can do is mudding.
I went on trails last week with two of my godchildren and it was fun and OB was fine but not sure I’d really do much more than that.

No heated windshield wipers! Can’t remember if the FE gets them or not, you would have to check.

For the life of me I can’t figure out why Ford wouldn’t make them an option at the very least for the other trim levels. I would’ve added them to our BL. The rust belt states and points north could sure use them. OB is the only trim that gets them in the US I think.

The real question is how many of the "got to have the complete Bronco set" collectors are out there?

Second question is how long will you keep it, it might be a long time before it does become collectable.

Although once Covid settles down a FE should still have a little trade in value.

Having said all of that.... Test drive the FE, go home with the one you like better.

I have a FE and I wish it had the full 360+ cruise control. I switched my sun visor to have the garage door opener. I really like the power of the 2.0 but I only drove the 1.5 for one test drive.

I think all FEs have the towing package too. I also like the rubber floors for easy cleaning.

Mine has 5000 miles and still feels like new so it wasn't ridden hard it could be an okay deal.

Right there with you. I believe the FE should've had EVERYTHING! Ford's rationale: we put it out as quickly as possible so not everything is on it. That's total BS.
