Hello! Sometimes when I park my 2023 outerbanks and open the door to get out, the car will beep at me as if the engine is still on and I opened the door. It only does this about 50% of the time and I cannot figure out what I am doing differently. When it's parked and I open my door and hear the dinging, I have to press the start/stop button two times for the dinging to go away completely. Anyone else have an issue like this?

See this post for more information.. although that post does not reach a concrete conclusion

(double beep occurs for me if I leave something heavy enough on the rear seats) (also another common cause of double beep might be some door, tailgate or rear window not completely closed)

My issue is a bit different than that thread. I don't hear any honking, just the dinging sometimes when I open my driver door after putting it in park. Not a huge issue though lol, just strange.

Ahhh dinging not beeping….

Just to confirm .. on your ā€˜23 outerbanks are you using the Auto headlamps mode or by chance are the headlamps in manual mode?

Or … could it be you had auto start stop enabled, come to a stop and the vehicle turns off the engine, then you just open the drivers door and get out?

I believe auto headlamps, I don't ever mess with the headlamp dial though, just to turn auto-brights off. Also, I turn off the auto start/stop every time I get into the car.

hmm I wouldn't think so, I usually have my backseats down anyway, and don't have kids or keep things on the seat.. so yeah I'm not sure why its beeping at me lol

There is a setting in the touchscreen that turns off the warning to check the backseat... Don't know if the software is smart enough to realize the back seats are down, but ON is the default setting.

Mine was going off every almost every time i shut the ignition off.... Tracked down how to disable that feature in one of the menus and it's been fine since.

I have no idea how this happens but I never touch my headlights. I always leave them on auto. Twice my Bronco dinged at me when I got out and for the life I me I couldn't figure out why. I tried everything to stop the noise. I finally realized the lights were on. I have no idea how they got changed but there it is. Try looking at your lights the next time it happens. ?

OMG it was this! Just now when I was parking and getting out, I heard the annoying ding again but then looked down at my headlight dial and I had turned it off auto! So that explains it, thank you for the insight!
