Having been an engineer myself at GM for 4 years I can say the video is an accurate representation across most of the major components in GM vehicles. I’m sure the same redesign for cost cutting is in play at many auto manufacturers not just GM
His comments on the oil life monitoring system and oddly devised fluid change intervals listed in owners manuals probably is accurate - these likely are not to benefit consumers as much as planned obsolescence benefits the manufacturers
