It shouldn't effect the speedometer since the only thing being changed from the factory tires is the width, right? The aspect ratio and diameter of the tire are the same as the factory tires. Or am I wrong?
No, the circumference of the tire is larger than the original tire, thus the tire will have less revolutions per mile, hence if you're going 70mph according to the speedometer you're actually going 72mph.

So the width of the tire from 225 to 245 affects the circumference?

The factory option on the BB are 225/65/17, so a 245/65/17 should theoretically be the same circumference if the aspect ratio and diameter are the same, no? Maybe I need a tire size for dummies explanation or at least a refresher in geometry ?

the 65 refers to the sidewalls or 65% of 225/245, so the size of the sidewalls are 225 x .65 and 245 x .65, so the 245s are 1 inch taller than the 225s.

I know there have been multiple reports that 245/65/17 tires have no rubbing "lock to lock", but I don't think that really satisfies all possible concerns. What about when there is some slight articulation of the suspension like when turning into a driveway? Or full articulation while off-roading? When you factor in the suspension, I think some questions remain. I believe that is why the @MAD Industries SEMA build has 1" lift but still only has 245/65/17 tires.

Great to know that 245s can fit without issues! Thanks for the post!

Any pics looking at the B/S from the FRONT or 3/4 Angle with the new tires. ?
Side profile really doesn't show much of a difference when it comes to WIDTH tires.

Thanks!

This has been my concern with 245/65s. But I figure.... Im getting a badlands so there's also a little more clearance, so its probably fine? I dont want the rubber rubbing when off road though.

We need more in depth reports from people doing this size tire. PLEASE!

My concern exactly - thanks for articulating better than I did. I am torn between 235 and 245.

As of now I am of the mind to go with the 235s until I can find some confirmation that 245s on a BB are fine when you are off road.

Thanks for the comparison as I will look into the 245/60/18 since I want to keep 18 stock rims on my outer banks.
did anyone ever confirm the 18s? I did see someone post they have 235/65/18 but no pics

Those make a world of difference! I almost don’t hate the 17” BB rims as much with those tires. Still, I opted for the optional 18”. Hoping to fit 245/60 on mine after delivery.

DId you ever fit the 245/60's?

Just put new cleats on. Straight 245/60/18, Falken Wildpeak trail A/T.
That's with no lift correct? Do you mind posting a couple of side and front shots? I have an OB with the 18 wheels and am conflicted on whether to stay with 18s or go to 17s

Man I thought I was set on getting 235/65/17s for my BS big bend. But I’m so intrigued by the 245s. I wonder if the 1.5L engine is up to the task
